Lida -I hope you get some answers soon. I will praying all is well with your baby and the pregnancy!
Lilac- I also started out with a high BMI, so CNM suggested I only gain 15-25 lbs (but it only came up because I asked her). Now I am carrying just one little babe....so yeah, I could see shooting for the lower end of that range of 25-42lbs. However, I agree that the focus should not be on numbers, but healthy eating habits. I agree with all the ladies here - sounds like you are eating right for you and your twins. You should be proud of yourself for educating yourself and seeking the advice of informed professionals -- unfortunately, most OBs are not educated on diet and nutrition. With all that said, are you still exercising? I recall you were taking prenatal swim classes and walking. If you are eating healthy and exercising, it seems like you are on the right track.
Lilykay- Hopefully, the weight gain will slow down a bit...mainly because I know how upsetting it can be. I see on the Special Diet thread you are back to eating healthy and exercising, so I wouldn't worry, Mama!
Decmamax4- Congrats on the l'il boy! I'll be praying that all is well with the little one. Let us know.
Jenny- Sorry about DH! Aaaah, hormones! We got to love them.
AFM - All is relatively well here. Although the Braxton Hicks were really annoying me yesterday. Also, I keep feeling weird sensations in my upper belly....like the baby is moving around up there...but the baby is below my belly button! I know it is gas or something...organs readjusting....but it is so distracting. Makes me wonder when I am going to start feeling the baby move regularly.
Today we are going to meet with someone about establishing guardianship for DS and the babe if something were to happen to DH and me at the same time. I pray to the Heavens it will never be needed, but I will feel better knowing I took care of this for my son. The thought of him getting caught up in the state system terrifies me.
I have been reading "Childbirth without Fear" - a natural childbirth classic from the 1940s. A very interesting read, even if a bit dated. So many books on my reading list!
