Anyone else on bed rest with placenta previa (either at home or at the hospital)?

I know this is pretty rare, so I don't know if anyone else is in my boat. I am 29 weeks and in the hospital for a complete previa. I've had two bleeds that were fairly minor, but enough to land me here. We re-evaluate on Monday and see if I can go home or not (barring anymore bleeding - 3 strikes you're in here for the remainder of the pregnancy). I've been in here for 9 days without bleeding and it is quite the roller coaster. The kicker is that everyone tells me that bed rest doesn't technically change your chances of bleeding.

I won't elaborate too much until I find out if anyone else is going through this too. I would love to have someone to talk this through with :)

I did this years ago, and wound up having my DD at 32w.  We came through fine, but there were definitely some scary bits.  I'm sorry you're in this spot - it's awful.

I didn't have previa. But I did bedrest my whole pregnancy and it saved my son. Hopefully you have no more bleeds.

oh mama i know how you feel i am 21 weeks and on bed rest due to a previa and a prolapsed uterus and it is not fun but it is well worth it if it will let me hold my baby girl soon i dont have a whole previa but i do have it half way think it what they call a grade 3 so it is bad enough that i will have to have a c- section and i dont like the idrea of that too oh and i have been on bed rest since i was 12 weeks and on and off since 6 weeks so i have 15 more weeks on bed rest till they will do a c-section

Hi all! Glad to know I'm not alone :)

The toughest choice I have going on right now is on Monday, if I haven't bled again, they will let me go home if I want. I have NO idea what I'm going to choose. I can think of 10 good reasons for each way. I know there's not a right way and that both paths have sacrifices, but I just don't have clarity yet about what to do. Hopefully that clarity will come Monday :)

Unuselyriver - did the docs ever say that your uterine prolapse had anything to do with your previa? I had a mild uterine prolapse after DS was born 6.5 years ago and I wonder if that had anything to do with it since I have NO other reason to have this (I don't fit any of the at-risk categories, aside from being 36).
