Quad Screen - Page 2
Had Level II u/s with the wonderful people of Yale.
Learned that my mw got it incorrect (lovely). The lab that did the quad screening rates ALL WOMEN like me (pg at 41, giving birth close to 42nd b-day) with a 1 in 58 chance of having a baby with DS. And that is what my mw told me my quad screening result was. (URGH!!!!)
In reality - after factoring in my bloodwork, etc.... my chance of THIS BABY having DS WENT DOWN to a 1 in 90 chance. So that was actually my quad screen result.
Then -- had the sooo great ultrasound on Tuesday -- all was PERFECT!!! :)
And that means our chance of this baby having DS went down again --- to a 1 in 180 chance.
What a bunch of ridiculousness! Would never ever waste my time with the quad screen again!!
I don't care about "odds" or "chances" etc... etc....
The u/s looked at my baby, THIS BABY that I am carrying. And every single measurement, movement, EVERYTHING looked just great!
So I am a very happy mama!!! :)
Oh! And they could see the gender!!!!! I have it tucked away in an envelope.... IF we take an early peek, I want my kids and husband to all be together for it (only my daughter joined me for the u/s). *EXCITED!!* :)
