Introduce Yourself!post #1 of 1607/6/13 at 4:45pmThread Starterpost #2 of 1607/7/13 at 2:02am
Expecting March 12, 2014. Hoping for a girl, but glad for a healthy baby. This will be our last baby. Planning on having my baby at home. I am a military wife stationed in Japan. I will be moving to North Carolina in the fall. Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you.
Just to let you know I volunteered to be the leader of the this group. I am in no way skilled at using a computer. If anyone would like to take over I will pass the baton. In addition suggestions on decorations and design of our group are definitely welcomed. I just really wanted to get this group going.

My name is Jessica and I am due March 9. This will be my 5th baby BUT I have not had a baby is 10 years! I have 4 children from my first marriage - 17DS, 14DS, 12DS, and 10DD. I am recently remarried and very excited and nervous to be doing this all again - life is an amazing journey!
All of my children were delivered by midwives, the first in a free-standing birth center and the rest at home. Planning another HB this time. Also cloth diaper, extended bf, all that nonsense.
Also, about 4 years ago my boyfriend (now dh) and I got pregnant while I had an IUD and that ended in a mmc at 12 weeks. The pain of that experience has lingered with both of us and is making us very cautious this time.
Like seattlemamma, I am not really qualified to moderate this board as I am a complete newb to Mothering, so if anyone wants to take over, please do! Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you and getting this board up and running.post #4 of 1607/7/13 at 6:45am
Seattlemama, where in NC? I'm in the Asheville area
This is my second marriage also, so I feel like I'm starting over! My boys are 10 & 8 from my previous marriage. I really thought I was not going to have anymore kids! But I am cautiously excited. I was due March 2013 but had a mmc in Sept of last year... and I've had two chemical pregnancies since. Hoping this one is a sticky bean! So far my hcg numbers have been great... my first ultrasound is 7/25! I'm also considered high risk due to a heart condition... hoping all goes well. This is going to be my last!
Thanks for volunteering to get things started! I am new, too... hopefully we will get some "seasoned" members!
I did notice that on the main birth club page we are still marked as "coming soon"??

My Name is Lauren and this is my first (finally)! I'm 33 y/o and currently 6wks 2days, due March 2. Have my first doctors visit Tuesday and hope to be picking a midwife soon. Hoping for either a birth center, or homebirth. I'm an identical twin and my mother is a fraternal twin so we all have our fingers crossed that I'll have twins, though we know it's a long shot, lol!

I just got my positive home pregnancy test results this morning so I think I will be due in March. Looking forward to getting to the OB and getting an expected Due Date. So excited since DH and I are 29 and DS is almost 4 already. Nervous for having just found out, but super excited to be joining the club!post #7 of 1607/7/13 at 1:05pmHola. Im expecting March 4th.this is my first pregnancy and was years in the making (im 38) ... finally a success via ivf! First ultra sound is this Friday June 12... and we will know how many little heart beats there are... could be 2. This does not feel real. I feel fine, just tired all the time. Crazy dreams every night and short little waves off nausea. Otherwise I feel fantastic.post #8 of 1607/7/13 at 1:54pmpost #9 of 1607/7/13 at 3:53pm
I'm Becky and found out this morning that I'm expecting! Due March 17. My son is going to be 2 in August. I had one miscarriage before him, so I'm in that "hopehopehope" stage.
Charlie went breach at the end and they don't do vaginal breach births here, so I had a c-section. Planning a HBAC. My midwife is currently setting up a birth center in Senegal so I have to wait to see her until August! Super excited!
Still breastfeeding my son and intend to tandum nurse.
I am a "seasoned" member, I suppose, as I had a MDC for my first. I haven't been on since that club closed and moved to Facebook, though.
Hello! Welcome everyone! So very very happy to be here! Sticky vibes all around - looking forward to seeing if it's one or two heartbeats, junglebaby!!post #10 of 1607/7/13 at 4:40pm
Hello! I'm Crystal (31yrs) and we got a faint positive on Friday, and another today so we are confident we are in the green now. I have 3 others with my ex-husband - DD 8yrs, DD 6yrs, and DS 4 yrs in August. This will be my boyfriends first though. We are very excited, and I can't wait to share the journey with all of you!post #11 of 1607/7/13 at 5:53pm
My name is Amber and I'm so excited to be able to post in a due date group! My hubby(32) and I(29) found out a week ago that we are pregnant, and the estimated due date is March 5th. Our first check up isn't until August 6th, so hopefully the month will fly by so I can hear that little heartbeat! We live north of Houston, Texas, so I'm thankful to be due before the heat of next summer sets in.
This is our second child, our DS is 16 months old. He will turn 2 right before the baby arrives, so it will be a bit chaotic around here, but we are definitely excited! I am still nursing him, and was debating whether or not to wean him before the baby gets here...but he is such a good nurser, and only nurses about 3 times a day, so I think we will try tandem nursing...definitely need to get more information and advice in that area.
Been feeling great so far, just a bit tired and nauseous here and there, but nothing to intense. Can't wait to share this journey with everyone!
Edited by dishescanwait - 7/7/13 at 7:57pmpost #12 of 1607/7/13 at 6:02pmHi everyone. My name is Selissa. I am so excited to be here, though after having an early mc two months ago, I am still fighting the worrying.
This also my second marriage. My kid's are from my first marriage, thwy are also 8 and ten, boys and generally lovely kids. I never thought I'd want another child but here I am hoping fiercely that this baby stays put.
Both my kids were born at home and this ine will be as well. I will be worki g outside the home which is a first for me (while pregnant/nursing anyway) and I am pretty dang nervous about that part
I do have internet skills and would be happy to help out with moderation or what have you. i actually wasgonna message a mod when i got off work and volunteer myself just to gwt it going. Lolpost #13 of 1607/8/13 at 3:45amHi! I am due with my third on March 6th. My DH and I have a DS8 and a DS5. They will be 9 & 6 when this little one is born. We had a hard time when our youngest was a baby (he was a pretty unhappy baby) and thought we were done for the longest time, but my heart really changed and I feel so blessed to be able to do this again. Of course, we've gotten rid of almost everything for a baby so it is like starting over. I anticipate lots of rude questions about if we planned this or not!
The boys don't know officially yet, but they both want a sister. DH & I would love a little girl, but will be happy with another boy too (it's unlikely we will find out before the birth). We cloth diaper, co sleep, extended BF, babywear, and now homeschool!
DS8 was a long birth, failure-to-progress hospital transfer from a birth center. I switched birth centers with DS5 and had the beautiful birth I had wanted. I will be using that birth center again. I probably won't get my first appt. until mid to late August, so this is a long scary wait. I had a chemical last month and am very nervous about a miscarriage, especially because I am older this time.
Looking forward to spending these precious months in community with all of you!post #14 of 1607/8/13 at 7:47ampost #15 of 1607/8/13 at 8:12amHi all,
I am 36 and pregnant with my second child. My first is 12. My first was born at home and it was amazing but I don't think this one will be for various reasons. We were definitely trying to get pregnant and I'm very excited but I am still very nervous about the a lot of things, like the health of the baby and if I should keep working. It's also crazy to me that I will have a child in high school and a baby! I've taken this whole process one step at a time so I'm trying to take each day as it comes.
It's so different to be pregnant with the Internet! 13 years ago I was borrowing as many old Mothering magazines from friends to soak it all in, and photo copying articles into a book for newly pregnant friends. The other wild thing about the Internet is to have a group like this to chat with before we are ready to tell friends and family. Thanks for being here all!post #16 of 1607/8/13 at 9:15am
Hi I found out on the 4th that I was pregnant (and I thought AF was late because I had been working so hard and I felt sick and tired because of the heat! lol!)- so this was an unexpected, pleasant surprise.
Anyhow, I have two girls, 6 and 9. Not sure if I'm going to do the homebirth thing or the hospital with midwife. Have done both and see pros and cons to each.
I hate this early pg feeling- I feel queasy and my boobs hurt, and I feel crampy like AF is going to come any time. After previous pregnancies I know this is normal for me, but it is quite disconcerting.post #17 of 1607/8/13 at 9:16ampost #18 of 1607/8/13 at 10:20am
Hello and congrats mommas! My EDD is 3/11 and I have a DD4 (soon to be 5!). I had my first beta today but I feel like this is sticking. I had a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with my daughter so I am super nervous. I'm glad this DDC is up and running. I didn't participate in anything like this with my daughter so I'm looking forward to going through this with supportive mommas. I only made it to 36 weeks with my DD, so I guess I could have a February baby if things go the same way. For now I'm working PT and will be in school again in August. I have to figure out how to handle Spring 2014 classes (only two), but I have to make it work to graduate on time.
Nice to meet you all!post #19 of 1607/8/13 at 2:03pm
Hey and Congrats to Everyone! I'm 35 years old and pregnant with my first baby! I have 2 beautiful step-kids. 1 boy and 1 girl. I'm hoping for a girl and my husband is hoping for a boy. Of course, we will be thrilled with whatever we are blessed with. I'm due March 19th and have my first dr appointment this Thursday, July 11th. I'm trying not to be too anxious!
