Exactly! I think it goes well with all our other names.

Tristan, Kassiopeia, Anatoly, Romneya, Georgiana

We were team green, but I think we're just going to find out. Our date is Nov 7. I don't even feel like exploring o nailing down names until we at least know. I don't want to get attached to one that I love and then it's not that gender. But, our list hasn't changed much from before. Boy will still be Samuel. Middle name Isaac or Moshe, or both. His name will be a combo of those three names. If it's a girl, Simcha, Sarai and Jubilee are still on the list. I want to use Elise for the middle name because it's my mom's middle name.

oh i really like your name choices, Simcha and Isaac were both on our list.

since we just found out the baby is a girl, it's official her name is Zara Oshun Maralie Dawn

Arthur Harlan is official for us, too, now!

My husband does say he wants to make sure the baby looks like an Arthur, but since all babies look like little old men to me, I can't see that changing . . .

I wanted to whittle our list a little more today now that we are focused on girls names, but hubby was resistant. He knows I'm not going to go for his favorite, so he's holding out. He said we'll make final decisions in February! I told him that if he waits until delivery day, I win, because I will have just pushed her out! We've always had names picked out well in advance, so I'm wondering how long I'll have to wait this time...

Oh, and our list has about 10 left... My favorite is Clara, his is Elizabeth. I told him that I would be willing to have Elizabeth as the middle name...

I like Clara Elizabeth!

ohhh I like Clara Elizabeth too. Our top runner right now is Isabel Rose. Nickname Izzy, not Belle. That could all change though. lol

LOL! I like that approach!

I can't believe how hard it is to find a good name for a girl! We have quite a few contenders, but the ones I really like DH doesn't, and vice versa. But I am going through name fatigue -- I kindof don't like anything anymore, because there is an argument against everything -- no good nickname, bad association, too hard to spell, too popular, not too popular now but will be in 5 years, etc., etc., etc.! I joked to my mom that we should just use Fiona because I don't like it, and call her Fifi, because that would be horrific.

We're that way with boy names! We can do girl names all day, no problem, but DH hates all boy names. All of them.

For a boy, we're going with the one we had on deck last time - Andrew Everett.

For a girl, it's trickier because I want her middle name to be Jean (after my mom) but don't want it to sound country-bumpkin. So has to be a bit unique. But DH won't go for anything that's too "out there" and we both try to avoid names that are or are likely to be in the "Top 10" baby names for the year.

So...

Tehya Jean?

Lilian Jean?

Norah Jean?

Kalia Jean? (DH is not a fan)

Cassandra (nn Cassie) or Cassidy Jean?

I love the name Sarah, but that's one of the examples of "country bumpkin" (in my opinion) when paired with Jean. :P

Curiouscanadian, I definitely think Norah Jean flows the best! Beautiful!

My friend (not terribly close) just named her new daughter Norah. Would that be too weird if we used it too?

I like Norah! I also like Magdalena, but I have a not too close with a daughter with that name and it feels weird. I'm not sure about that...

Maybe if you went with something Isabelle, Elizabeth, Claire, etc. (something English or another culture), you could avoid the "country bumpkin" effect.

I think having a friend who is not too close is not a barrier, unless they are a neighbor and/or kids are the same age and likely to be in the same class. I have a close friend who lives far away and used our DS1's (common) name. I was surprised for about 30 sec and then got over it quickly!
I personally shy away from names my friends have used. If you are separated by distance as well, perhaps. We have nearby friends with a Cecily and we love the name but feel it is inappropriate for us to use it. That's just us.

I'm kinda jealous of you guys choosing two names, one first and one middle! We began with our first using two middle names and now on our fifth I'm a little tired of having to find two middles that work with our first name choice and our last name!

Team blue here.  Can't nail down a boys name though!  My personal favorite is Aevryn (A-ver-in) (ever read a book by Debora Geary?), but it sounds too much like my other son's name, Aiden.  Other likes that we agree on are: Asher, Brenne,. Landon, Gavin, Carter (dh likes it, too political for me) & Ashton.  Having trouble finding a name that I LOVE though....

Just yesterday my sister in law basically told me to back off of any family names on my husbands side bc ' she doesn't want any family rifs if same names are chosen.' Shes not even close to being in the family way. It's actually fine by me bc my hubby dislikes his family names (though I love Perry for a boy but I'm most certain were having a gal). Also, my side has amazing Belarusian names that I prefer as well (Aleksandra, Maksimilijan, Emilijan, Eugene, Victor....). We're still in love w Audris. I prefer non feminine names for girls so we'll see...
