I found out at 29 weeks that I had gestational diabetes and changed the way I ate (less carbs more whole grains, meats, veggies) and got my daytime numbers under tight control (never over 110 two hours post meals) but was struggling with my fasting numbers. They always ended up in the upper 90s to lower 100s no matter what I did (changed evening snacks, exercise).
Ended up being put on Levemir 8 units before bed and now have decent fasting numbers in the 80s to lower 90s. Now at 34 weeks 6 days I had a scheduled us to check baby's weight and fluid and they estimated him at 6.5 lbs already!!!! I don't know what I did wrong! Numbers are under control but I'm still predicted to have a big baby. Anyone else have controlled gd and still had a big baby? And what was your LO esimated weight at 34 weeks and how accurate were they in predicting birth weight? Sorry I'm just worried about having a 9 to 10 lb baby.
