I haven't been in this situation, so I don't know that I have specific helpful advice to offer, but do remember that both my little ones were more distractable around 4 months... and needed to be in a quiet, boring place to busts and focus on eating. perhaps that would help ( and may also explain why she nurses better at night & first thing in the morning?).
if you don't have a copy of " The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" ( from La Leche League), you might want to pick on up, it's got great suggestionsx better yet would be to hook up with your local LLL leader or go to a meeting to get their input and advice. I know the book suggests nursing (or offering to nurse) often, not just on a schedule or when it's obvious they're hungry. maybe asking daycare to hold off on the last feeding and nurse when you arrive to pick her up (if there's a place to do that)? pumping more often ( even after nursing at home - tho not in the middle of the night, a body needs sleep too!) - pumping can definitely be a drag tho.
has you LO always gotten some formula, even when you were on maternity leave? or were you able to exclusively breadt feed til you returned to work? maybe some nutritional supplements to help boost supply?
sorry I don't have a lot of specific help to offer. just didn't want to leave your post hanging out here with no response. breastfeeding can feel so overwhelming and lonely when there are issues ( and even when everything is going along as it should!) it's a huge commitment of body, mind, and spirit. it can be wonderful but it's also a lot of work. good luck!
