Okay, what is with these BH today?  I feel like I have had one long menstrual cramp since about 4:30 this morning.  There doesn't seem to be a start or stop to it, just crampy and uncomfortable.

Jill, that sounds great! Sounds like your body is preparing....
So at my 37 week appointment on Monday, the midwife said I could start using some EPO to ripen the cervix. She said sex is even better. She said I could do both-- have my husband insert the EPO capsule as foreplay. And my response to that is. Foreplay??? What the hell is that? I'm all about getting in and out of there. My husband says I'm worse than a man. She also said I should orgasm every time. I told her that was too much damn work. What the hell? So not only do I have to DTD, but I gotta bookend it with foreplay and orgasms too? I sound lazy, I know. Ha ha.

Is anyone having intestinal issues? For the last week I've had severe intestinal cramping followed by loose stools. Then the pain just goes away.

I'm not sure it's pregnancy related as it started happening right after I switched my iron pill from evening to morning.

It's frustrating because I want some good old fashioned UTERINE cramping! I am having pressure low in my pelvis and my inner thighs are sore. I'm hoping this means the baby is low and working on dilation.

LMAO Songbird!! That was me too! Wanted the cervix ripening but still had major touch aversion and wanted ZERO romance/touching/foreplay. Foreplay was me telling DH "pants: drop 'em! Let's get this baby out!" lol

Me too, Jill! I hope they mean something. My lower back hurts too and I feel generally cranky.

Wow, if I get any one of those things done, I feel pretty accomplished. But all three? No way!

bdoody- From what i've been told diarrhea and/or vomiting/nausea can also be signs of impending labor:0 although I guess it could be your pill too.

Re: DTD for labor- last pregnancy I refused to try it, i just could imagine.  It was August, about 100 degrees and I was about 20 lbs heavier than i am now.  THankfully DS came on time.  This time i have put DH on notice to get prepared (whatever that means).

Oh I do hope these BH mean something for us, Coffee!  I so wanted to take a walk today at work, but of course work has been strangely crazy the last couple of days and I am chained to my phone/and or computer.  I wanted to see if a walk would calm them down or ramp them up maybe.

Thanks all. Contractions still progressing but dilation not so much, they sent me home to rest, expecting to probably head back later today. Been losing my mucous plug.

Sending you some strong labor vibes, Somegirl! I hope you're holding baby soon.

OMG Songbird, you totally crack me up! I agree that all three of those things seems like a challenge even when you're not enormously pregnant and already have kids. But when you are, good grief! My DH and I DTD to try to get my DS to come several times and it never worked, so this time I was like: whatever, I am too tired for that! And baby actually came early. LOL!

Somebody get Somegirl some candles, a dim room, relaxing music, and a back rub! Hope you pass these hours chilled out and enjoying the last moments of anticipation before you meet your bub. Sending more vibes for smooth and steady progress. You got this! smile.gif

Hey, has anyone here gone past their due date yet? I think all of the babes born so far were before their due dates. Just sayin', maybe I will be the first!

I feel for you. In my last DDC, I should have been one of the first (due 9/1), but ended up being in the second half! Hope your babe comes soon and puts you out of your misery, coffeebean!

I have 4 days until my due date.  Today lots of crampiness, braxton hicks, and overall tightening in the top of my uterus but still no "official" contractions.  I get really excited when I feel like things pick up, then I get kinda down when everything stops!

somegirl, good luck getting things moving!!  Fingers crossed for you.

songbirdsparkle, we were DTD every other day.  Then after this past Sunday we've gotten busy and haven't gotten around to it.  So I hope the last few weeks of being regularly active has helped enough.  Orgasms for me make it that much more fun, but I can't say we're mega into foreplay--well, at least I have begged dh to get some oil out and give me a back or foot massage as "foreplay" I wonder if that counts?!?!  haha :)

I just got back from my midwife. I'm 38 weeks- 2cm dilated, 70% effaced. She said my cervix is soft and mailable. She could feel her head, but she is still on the high side. She also said that was normal for a third baby and that they usually drop as you go into labor.

I let her strip my membranes and now I'm having bloody show. No contractions, but my pelvis feels heavy. We'll see...

Sounds promising, bdoody!! Keep us updated!

Possibly TMI- but I have a little bloody show every time we DTD... then it clears up. So annoying!

Oooh, it's so exciting reading about everyone gearing up for labor! I can't wait to see who is next!

Bdoody, woohoo!

I'm getting kind of frustrated here, we keep meaning to dtd, but it never works out. We're always too tired, or DS is in our bed (at this point in pregnancy I can't imagine being somewhere less comfortable), or we forget. Argh! I need those prostaglandins. I know I still have a lot of time left, but I'm just so anxious to have things go right this time.

On the bright side though, I've been having some bh. It makes me feel so much more confident about going in to labor at some point. lol.gif  The midwife mentioned yesterday that baby is getting into a perfect position for birth- hurray!

I ended up with contractions every 20 minutes or so last night this way, lol. It didn't progress into anything though, so now I'm just really tired. :P

We have been ordered to DTD tonight which my husband is not thrilled about. We are both exhausted. Me from this pregnancy and him from being up with DD1 in the middle of the night. I guess it's time to sacrifice smile.gif
