My little man had an arrhythmia located by Doppler the day before his due date. At 11 days old he was taken to the children's hospital where they confirmed the arrhythmia and found two holes in his heart. One is a PFO which I understand is extremely common and largely harmless. The other is a true hole in the heart, but I'm told it's "tiny" and likely to heal on it's own. He wears a 24 hour holter monitor every two months to track progress. The cardiologist has basically told me this is as minor as irregular beats and holes in the heart get, and I'm supposed to treat him like any other baby and not worry about any complications. Still I can't help but worry about my little guy's heart and how this will affect him in the future. Does anyone here have a baby with similar issues? Am I being silly worrying as much as I am?
