Bizarre cravings!

I saw a thread like this, about pica, etc, in another ddc, and I almost forum crashed just to say YES! I'm having these weird cravings, too!
Mine are primarily a crazy attraction to toothpaste and to certain scents, mostly soaps and clean smelling, natural things like lavender and rosemary. The toothpaste- I don't want to eat it, I just take such amazing pleasure in brushing my teeth, and I want to use extra toothpaste and make the flavor last a long time. Is this weird or what? Lol

I know stuff like this is often caused by a nutritional deficiency, so I switched prenatal vitamins as of yesterday and I'm going to be extra aware of my diet. That said, it's a strangely pleasant experience, taking so much more pleasure in smells and flavors I've always liked but never obsessed over. Anyone else having similar cravings?

I haven't, but a friend of mine who had her baby last month did. She was addicted to the smell of Gain. She went and sought out every single product that had the Gain scent. She even had one of those little travel air fresheners and would carry it with her. She's been the only person I've known personally to have any kind of craving like that.

With having an increased sense of smell myself, I can almost see the appeal. lol

I've been craving citrusy smelling stuff. I bought a pomegrante & mango bath wash yesterday. But that's it. I don't wanna eat or buy a zillion things that smell like it. :D

I'm so disappointed, I haven't had a single weird pregnancy craving this entire time! Certain things have sounded better than others but no "I Must Have This Right Now" moments. Honestly just want more of the things that I normally like! :-)

It's actually kind of fun- I bought this kiss my face bar soap the other day, it's lavender and olive oil, and I've never been so clean in my life! I love the smell of it so much I could wash with it constantly. I don't have any desire to eat it, thank goodness!

Yup, exactly that! I was sort of hoping for the experience of mad cravings and a license to eat anything but I feel extraordinarily normal.

Glad I am not the only one! My sister in law made a "Mama's Cravings" sign at my baby shower and I had the hardest time thinking of anything I could consider a real craving.

I've had cravings, but they are for things that I always like to eat: pastries, chocolate, ice cream, etc.  But I'm trying really hard to cut out sugar and white flour now to curb my weight gain a little.  Early on I had cravings that seemed like they were probably trying to get me key nutrients: milk, red meat, salads.  Milk is the one I'm still craving.

Nectarines & Peaches. I have to have them!!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I've eaten 2-5 in one sitting. I've done the same with watermelon. It feels a little obsessive when I plan my whole day around getting to the farmers market so I could get some fruit. But yeah-- I've always loved fruit.

Cereal is another thing I REALLY enjoy. But being off grains for the better part of a year before getting pregnant is probably why.

But those aren't too strange. I though for a little while that I had pica because of how I craved water and ice. I knew of a pregnant lady obsessed with ice and craved it all day. I told her I think she should look up pica because ice is on the list of "strange" things to crave. Doesn't seem strange to me. Lol!
