Finally jumping in...

I've had an account here for awhile, but never started participating in the forums because shortly after I joined the forum layout was changed and I found it too overwhelming to figure out. Lame, I know, but I also had a lot of other stuff going on in my life, so it seemed like too much to take on at the time.

Let's see... about me... I have one son and a hubs.

Our family is on a journey towards self-sufficiency... so far we have the small footprint tiny house, the garden, the roof water collection system that fills cisterns, a woodstove, and a crap-load of camping gear. treehugger.gif We do enjoy the conveniences of modern life, and have no intention of giving them up completely, but we would like to get to a point where we COULD turn the hydro off and be completely off the grid.

If you have any questions... let me know. I'm a friendly gal who likes to "talk". :) Looking forward to making new friends and getting some input on understanding my son...

Welcome to the Mothering site.  I love the idea of a tiny house, but we are stuck in a huge one.

We love canada. I am from there and CANNOT wait to move back home in 4 years. I lived  in Victoria for a while. I love the off the grid as that is our plan as well. TO eventually move to the canadian gulf and have a much more self sufficient existence.
