Oh wow, so much action around here! Congratulations Stormi and Autumn! Loving reading birth stories from our own little DDC and seeing pics of our first babies :) Wishing each of you all the best.
We really need a Welcome August DDC Babies thread. How does that happen?
Banana and Somegirl: can not even imagine shingles on top of all the other regular pregnancy ailments. I hope you get some real relief soon!
Songsparkle: Sorry about your interaction with your midwife. I think i would probably say something. I typically do not head my own advice but during this pregnancy I met with one MW who I really did not like her approach and said something. I don't know how it will impact our interactions in the future (and oh god I just found out she's on call on my EDD), but I felt alot better knowing that I had stuck up for myself.
Edelweiss: Thinking of you! It sounds like you are doing a great job on rest and doing all that you can. I hope your twins stay put for as long as possible, but you/they have made it quite far at this point too! Oh and BTW, I think you were right about the yeast rash issue. I found that you can use apple cider vinegar to alleviate it and it seems to working great.
AFM: I had a busy weekend, did way too much and think I am broken. Took DS to the pool 2 days in a row and swim lessons on my own. Friday and Saturday temps were in the 90's and 100's and wore on me. My back and hips are killing me and I'm exhausted. Boooo! I don't know how I am going to do DS's birthday party in two weeks. What was I thinking?!? At least I am not having it at our house.
On the positive side, I had a good MW appt Saturday. Its funny to me how vague the MW's are compared to my OB experience in the past. No guestimates on size or comments about my weight (which has been holding steady for the past 6 weeks with only one total lb gained). Baby is still head down and "engaged", active, good heartbeat and a "good size". Discussed my birthplan, which she really read! And I did my own GBS swab, which was fine with me. Just waiting on the results. Not too optimistic, since GBS + last time and did not really do the full preventative measures that I could have before hand. I would love a negative, but okay with + since i can still deliver at the Birth Center.
In other news, DH is NESTING! His timeframe for everything is always 10 paces behind me, but all of sudden he is cleaning up a storm, getting rid of old stereo equipment (because really that's what the baby needs :), and is so intense about making sure he has a seat protector for his new car for the carseat to go on, like today. Its very endearing and he actually admitted that he's feeling quite anxious right now.
