Had a home birth on Thrusday night. Everything went great! This baby is soooo sleepy! I've never had a sleeper. Should I worry? He wakes up to nurse then passes out again. My milk is coming in so that's great. I'm just amazed by this sleeping child!

I would say enjoy it while it lasts, and wake him to nurse if he is not waking up on his own.  My second child, also born at home, was a tremendous sleeper whereas my first was not.

It's so weird. My other two kids keep me on my toes for years!!!! I guess I should just me gratefull. I've heard stories about these babies but never thought I would get one.

So my second child still needs a lot of sleep.  She was a slug of a baby, slower to meet physical milestones, could fall asleep on her own, could be left with other people.  But she became difficult as a toddler and now as a 9 year old is just hard to deal with so much of the time.

Mine was 2 weeks early and too sleepy to nurse. Be happy he'll wake up to eat and enjoy it while it lasts! My little dude didn't really wake up much until close to 2 months old, and since then has been an absolute breeze to put to bed compared to friends' babies.

Mine were both sleepy jaundicy babies. It made breast-feeding really hard! So now I have the opposite problem... Sure got a lot more done when they were sleepy.

Luckily he wakes up to nurse! But then just goes to sleep.

Monkey pants, we have the same baby wink1.gif
Nice to see you from the July DDC! My lil miss is the same: wakes to nurse, packs it in, maybe stays alert for a few minutes, then conks out until next feeding. I think we're just lucky - as long as pee, poop and nursing is on track. Congratulations!

I've never had the pleasure of a sleepy baby!!! My other two kept me awake for years. This guy is so sweet. He only screams when he's cold during a change or if the boob is not there in time. Yay us! wink1.gif
