I know you guys aren't professionals, but I am just at a loss with my 1.5 year old. We have seen several specialists, and I swear, if what I'm describing is not in their area of specialty, its as though I did not even say it! I am sure his issues are connected in some way, but I do not know enough to figure it out. If you have any suggestions or thoughts on this, or even what type of doctor we should see, please share.
Here's his history:
Born full term
Youngest of three, older kids in part time school (but not anymore)
Meets all milestones on time-ish...not delayed with walking, speech, etc.
Has eczema, mild to moderate but has improved over the last few weeks
Sick often- on antibiotics 6-8 times in 17 months
Reccurent thrush (I'm guessing from the abx)
Hospitalized for a UTI at 5 months
Pink eye/congestion at just a few weeks old
Basically, if there is an illness within a 50 mile radius, this kid seems to come down with it.
My older kids do not get sick this often, nor to the same severity.
He is completely unvaccinated.
He also has undigested food in his stools, which are both horrible smelling and unformed...kinda...soupy. ALL THE TIME. To me, this is a big deal, but the doctors do not seem concerned at all.
They have tested his stool, but they never tell me what for, whatever they check, they say it's normal. He's had 2 bloodtests for celiac and a host of other things that are all coming back normal.
We saw an immunologist today who ordered more tests but didn't tell me which ones...and his solution to this is some sort of vaccine that is similar to prevnar.
Thank you if you even made it through this post. I just do not know where to start to get answers. Any suggestions, advice, websites...anything would be appreciated.
