We're doing pretty great here. My recovery is going very well despite just about 9lb of baby and a very stubborn placenta. Other than sore nipples, breastfeeding is going great too. My milk is in and Callie is a nurseaholic. She clusters at night but will go a couple of hours between nursing during the day here and there. She was born 8-15 on the 25th, dropped to 8-2 in the hospital but at today's check was back up to 8-9. I anticipate she'll be back to birthweight in no time and we'll be busting out bigger size clothes. I have her in a 3 month sleeper at the moment and she's filling it out for length already! At this rate, I'll be busting out the 6 month stuff sooner than anticipated!
Glad everything is going well for you, Skycheat!
My boys were 5 lbs 9 oz, and 5 lbs 3 oz at birth. Apgars 9-9-9 and 8-9-9. They are acting like 35 weekers, some periodic breathing, need the warmer for body temperature. on IV fluids till they can get enough orally. My milk is coming in, really came in yesterday just continuing to work on building my supply. They will nurse if they're not too sleepy so about half the time they will have a decent session. Still in NICU and the earliest they will leave is the weekend because they need 5 days free of alarms and Noah had one yesterday from bradycardia. Josiah had one the day before and 5 the day before that. I discharge from the hospital today and will be going home at nights to sleep and pump and then spending all day up here in the NICU until we're one big happy family home together.
Edelweiss, hurray on your little guys nursing! It sounds like they're doing well, and hopefully the alarms will reduce. It sounds like you'll all get to be together soon!
We're doing good, too, and thanks to this champ nurser, my milk came in last night. yay! We finally decided on a name- Caroline Elizabeth- filling out the birth certificate just before we were discharged yesterday morning.
I know newborn period is not easy, but EVEN with a very anxious, upset, and excited toddler, I waaaay prefer it to pregnancy! I'm so lightweight! I can breathe and eat and bend. I am sleeping enough... My recovery is going very smoothly thanks to such an easy birth, so add that to snuggling with the cutest baby sister in the world and I am feeling so lucky and happy.
Beautiful name, Crafty! I'm glad you're feeling good, it sounds like a great recovery! I hope your toddler gets used to the adjustment soon.
I'm glad you're doing well, Stormi! How rough to be dealing with possible reflux! I hope that calms down soon and baby feels better.
