Mother's Intuition: Gender Guess Thread! - Page 2
Have any of you heard about Ramzi's method? It's the one where if the placenta is on the right side of the uterus it's a boy, and if it's on the left then it's a girl...I looked up the actual study and it's long and technical, there's a blurb about it here http://pregnancy.about.com/od/genderpredictions1/ss/Ramzis-Method-To-Determine-Fetal-Gender.htm so I was super excited to get my 12 week scan today and see (with supposed 97% accuracy) what we're having....guess what?!? The placenta is smack dab in the middle and on top!! Guess I'll be waiting for 20 week visit to find out, LOL. With DS I was right and with DD I was right, I have a feeling, based mostly on craving salty foods and looking fat vs pregnant that this will be another DS. Either way I am so happy that everything looked great today!
Congrats on the great scan, Linds!
I've actually never heard of that theory -- interesting! Guess your bubs is resisting a label at this point :) But you're two for two so pretty good shot you're right about this one too.
I have heard of the nub theory, though: http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2009/06/03/nub-theory-baby-gender-prediction-at-12-weeks/
If you have your 12-week pic take a look. I know there are entire threads in forums dedicated to women who claim to be masters at deciphering "nubs" on u/s pics. To me this seems a little extreme but hey if you wanna know, you wanna know I guess!
Also, if you already know gender, try the ring on a string test...I wanna know if it's accurate for you
I tried it multiple times tonight and it always said boy! We (probably) won't be finding out early, so this is my 'fun' to pass the time. Waiting is so hard!!

There are two very reliable ways that I use other than my feeling about what the sex of the baby is and that is reading the eyes. It is called sclarology ( the whites of the eyes) If you are looking at the eyes look at them as if you are looking at a clock face. In the right eye between about 7-8 o'clock if there is a vein then it is a boy. If in the left eye between 4-5 o'clock it is a girl. This is the uterus part of the eye. Then together with that I watch which side the baby lies on the most and stays on at the end if the left girl and if right boy. I'm only about 85% correct when reading boy eyes and 95% for girls. I've used this for many years and it is pretty reliable. It makes it harder if the moms eyes are real blood shot or veiny. Just something to test out.
I strongly believe we're having a boy - I've only ever had dreams about a baby boy. Both my mother AND mother-in-law believes we're having a boy too. I also have a bit of a gender preference though, since I plan on just having 1 child (plus I really don't click with a lot of the pink and princess things...maybe I'll get a tomboy! That I could handle.) Ultrasound is on the 30th, so we'll find out soon!
Scan is not until the beginning of October when I will be about 22 weeks. Last night I dreamed I had an ultrasound but did not find out the sex and it didn't even dawn on me until after I had left. (This procedure was also performed at a refuge house for poor teenagers, which I was in the dream but not in real life. I guess they couldn't afford paper for their ultrasound machine.)
We both kind of felt boy for a while... and it's a boy!
In hindsight I never really "felt" like I was having a boy with my first. I was just convinced that there was no way my husband would father a girl because there are so many boys in his family. I didn't have a feeling one way or the other with her, though.
Have any of you tried any of the old wives tales (that I mentioned up thread) now that you know what you're having? I just wonder if they work -- and if there's any merit to them at all
