Yogini, I think you should get rid of scales and turn your head at appointments that check your weight and ask them not to tell you. Obsessing over how many pounds is so harmful for you given your long battle with anorexia. Try to have a go-to topic of thought the second your thoughts to go your body, and just force yourself to focus on other things. Go for a walk, do some adjusted yoga, read a book, meet a friend, just do something to occupy yourself if your thoughts start stressing about your body image.
Weight gain - Page 2
So much weight gain is just water and baby supports. Also weight gain slows in the 3rd trimester and comes off after eventually.
I'd rather do a few more workouts after than spend my pregnancy feeling fat and maybe eating less and depriving my baby of something it might need like protein for the brain!
Just remember your baby needs fat to develop properly. If you do cut anything out make it sugar and unhealthy carbs. Good luck!!
Pregnancy does change the body, but it is a great lesson in beginning to understand that we are not our body, we are who we are beyond the body's limitations. If the spirit is beautiful it won't matter what you look like, people will only see beauty. <3
I think I gained 4 pounds in the last week!! Ahhh!! Oh well! I can literally feel my son growing....the kicks get stronger and bigger! I'll lose the weight eventually! I really like cake right now, oh and ice cream, oh and pizza, oh and Mexican....uh never mind, I just love it ALL!!!!
I want all of those foods at the same time!!! OM NOM NOM NOM NOM!!! But I have gestational diabetes, so cannot haz. :-/
Sorry... Carry on. ;-)
I totally gained 4 pounds between my last two appointments. So 4 pounds in 2 weeks. 2 weeks of vacation at my parents farm with all my siblings and so much good comfort food. I found myself eating half a box of enteman's chocolate donuts (a favorite from childhood) and having an ice cream cone every night after dinner. I just couldn't stop. They were amazing and I totally don't regret it AT ALL. Anyway, my midwife didn't say anything and now I'm home with my normal feeding patterns so...
My sweet tooth is out of control! I crave coca cola constantly, and right now there is a twix in the fridge calling my name.. I should really wait until I eat dinner at least, right? Lol. No idea about my weight gain at the moment, my next appt isn't until the thursday after this, and I don't own a scale.
My boss told me this morning it looked like I was having twins!! And another guy at work last week asked me if I was due soon and I said not until the end of October and he said "wow really? I thought you were due any day now!" Yikes! I have gained 12 pounds so far (started at 125)... I didn't think it was that bad.
dahlia is totally right. Even mothers don't remember. Today at library story hour another mother (who I had never met before) asks me "so, how far past your due date are you?" when I told her I wasn't due til October she was all "Oh my god, really?"
I would like to point out that she was nursing a baby in that moment so I know it hasn't been that long since she was in the exact same position as me. I hope I don't forget how to be nice to pregnant women that fast.
So just ignore him superbeans. He has no clue
Ok, so I'm 5'5" and started at 112 lbs in excellent shape from dancing and yoga. This is my 6th baby. I'm just about 33 weeks and weigh 160 now. That's nearly 50lbs. It has been like that almost every time. Obviously I lose it, but it has taken longer as I've gotten older (I'm 36). But now that I have dance in my life I think I can burn off a lot when I go back, whenever that is. I had really hoped not to gain a lot. Getting pregnant was such a shock and I keep saying this is my grand finale. I've had all my babies at home and never torn and barely get nauseous if at all, so those are the good things, but I just turn into a birth goddesses and I can't help it
Birth Goddess... I LOVE that!!
