Okay, this is sorta cd related, so please keep it here...

I can KIND of understand wanting to throw out a dirty diaper.... but a dirty bottle??

Have you seen the new disposable bottles? I think it is by Avent or Playtex? That is so wrong to me!!!

Ugh.

diposable BOTTLE or disposable LINER for bottle? either way, not great. I say just use an old-fashioned-wash-em-when-you-use-em bottle.

Very interesting- very gross! I do think that sposies are worse- Most parents never dump the poop out and just put it in the garbage. That makes me just feel sick- but why are people becoming so lazy that they need to have disposable every day uses- as in BOTTLES, DIAPERS, PADS!!! It drives me nuts- I am not a huge freak about using everything natural, but some stuff is just plain stupid! It it really that hard to wash the damn things? I will never understand people, I live in my own world- or so I am told! LOL!!!

I am SO SICK of seeing all these new disposable products. It's gross and stupid. And of course, people just love it because it's so 'convenient'. : :Puke

the disposable product that really gets me are the one time use "dish rag/towel." I mean c'mon folks, just wash your stupid dish rag. What's next, disposable bath towels?

Criminy.

I actually have had to stop thinking about "disposable" stuff because I obsess and become a very cranky and judgemental person. Sigh.

me too. I was laughing at the commercial for the pamper's "cloth like" wipe things and DB was telling me that I was so critical! But, I can't help it! Just use the real stuff! :LOL

Yeah, those really get me too. People are so freaking lazy. Next we're going to have disposable clothing too. "Who has time to wash clothes? Now you can wear them once and just toss them in the garbage! Busy moms everywhere rejoyce!" :Puke

Yeah I actually got some disposable washcloths in the mail...

I think they even say more like cloth on them. I was like what the h*** am I supposed to do with this?

My sil probably has already bought all that kind of stuff... she throws everything away and thinks I am just weird. But her and I don't get along anyway because she thinks it's my fault she got pg... but that's a whole nother story.

Ditto to what Amy said.

Though has anyone seen the previews for "day after tomorrow" or something like that where because of the enviromental effects, the earth goes into a premature ice age (tital waves through new york and tornados in LA kinda thing?) A lot of enviromentalists are hoping this movie opens some eyes.

I'm not holding my breath though, I doubt anyone can pull their heads out of their @ss because they prefer to think that when the trash man picks up their two super sized containers (for a family of four) that it all magically goes away.

Oh wait- I'm not supposed to think about that sort of thing!!!

Avent makes the disposable bottles I think you are talking about. They are actually disposable pumping containers that you can screw a converter on and turn into a bottle. You can reuse them a few times (not sure how many) before you throw them out. Maybe they wer trying to cut down on the cost of the bags people use to pump into that have to be thrown out every time instead of every few times?

They already make disposable wash rags for kids! I think they even come with soap already on them! chemi soap i am sure! eewwwwww. Think about it: your baby needs disposable dipes, wipes, changing pads, bottles, wash rags, toss & go food containers and cups, formula containers, baby food jars and plastic containers. That is all i can think of right now. How much trash can one baby make? gross............. :

It KILLS me when I see the whole "Cloth like!" "feels just like cloth" "softer more cloth like texture" Why the HECK don't you JUST USE CLOTH? I mean spend all this money and research time (instead of doing boring stuff like um cureing cancer) to make these things "cloth like" instead of actually using cloth and washing it? UGH that is like all the chemicals and perfume and crap they dump into these 'disposable' things and then say "new NATURAL scent" there is NOTHING natural about it. ICK ICK ICK....

Oops someone gave me a soap box and now I can't get down...sorry

The Playtex drop-ins are recyclable

Disposable bottles does seem ridiculous, but I was/will soon be guilty of using disposable bags for pumped milk. What else can you use though? With dd I pumped A LOT of extra milk, so we always had ~30 little bags in the freezer at any given time. I also had a stash in her daycare's freezer.

Yeah cloth like my butt! Those rip really easy and it takes me about 6 of them to clean up the same amount of poop that 2 cloth wipes cleans up, and really sometimes I only need one but I use another one just in case to make sure I got it all. BTW my girls love cloth wipes . The baby always whines and fights you if you are trying to wash her face with a disposable wipe but doesn't mind at all if you use a cloth one. The scent bugs her I think, even the 'unscented' disposable wipes have some odor.

And if you are a talking about the advent ones they are reusable, it's optional disposable. Kinda like the 'take n toss' stuff from safety first or the reusable/tossable ziploc stuff. All of which I do have some but I reuse the heck out of it and they do last awhile.

I really rant on people about disposable washclothes and dishrags. I'm mean on another board someone was whining because she heard J&J was discontinuing those bath clothes you can toss and I said "that's a good thing, one less disposable piece of crap in the world. " :LOL I can understand occasional use if you need to give your kid a bath after swim lessons or something but this person mentioned above said she used them all the time for every bath. Geesh.
