I have a rare opportunity to have a play date with a child who has chicken pox tomorrow. My hope is that my children get chicken pox naturally and while young as opposed to risking a more severe case when they're older. It's an ideal time for us except for one thing - we're traveling across the country in 7.5 weeks. If the incubation period is 3 weeks and the virus lasts 3 weeks, we should still have a week to rest up before stepping onto the plane. And I would guess that it won't really take that long, but from what I understand, that'd be the worst case scenario.
However, my big concern is that one of my dd's gets it and the other doesn't get it for a week or two and then that timeline shifts and she is just getting over chicken pox when it's time to pack our bags and leave.
