I just found out I'm expecting my 3rd child, and I absolutely insist on having a home birth. My second child was born at home in Maine, and it was soooo easy to find a CPM up there (as in, there was an online directory with a map of their locations haha)! CT is a different story. Can anyone help? I know CT isn't very homebirth friendly so CPMs don't advertise their businesses, but how do you go about finding a midwife in CT? Please help!
homebirth midwife in Northcentral CT?
Hi! Congrats on your pregnancy!
There are a handful of CPMs in the state attending homebirths... If you are in in north-central CT, Nancy Farr may be the closest to you. She just moved her office, and I am blanking on where, but she's in the Hebron/Andover area. Let me know if you'd like her number and can't find it.
If you were interested in using a CNM, Birth&Beyond is a homebirth practice that serves most of the state. Their main office is in Madison, but they have a satellite office in West Hartford.
And as someone else already said, depending on how close you are to Mass, you may have more options using a CPM over the border.
Good luck in your search!
