Due Date Thread and Roll Call - Page 7

Hey all... I miscarried over the weekend. I've had a funny feeling that something wasn't right in this pregnancy from the start, but been pushing it aside as a normal pregnancy anxiety. Off to heal and reflect, will hopefully be back in another DDC by the end of the year.

Best wishes for all of you to have wonderful pregnancies and beautiful births.

My name is Lily and I believe I am due on April 7, according to the first day of my last period calculations. This will be my first! My husband and I are very excited. We have just moved out to our family farm where we moved an old house from Houston, TX to remodel and live in. So, much to do in these next 7 months! I have just made an appointment for a consultation with a midwife in Houston and would love to hear from other Houston ladies regarding midwife/OB/birthing center recommendations. Thanks!

Intoit- hug2.gif I'm so sorry! If I may offer a little advice with love...Take all the time and resources you need to grieve and heal. Don't let anyone pressure you to 'move on' before you are ready. Just grieve and heal the way *you* need to. I hope you are surrounded with compassion, love and support through this difficult time!

Hi all,

I've been lurking a bit but not posted as yet. I'm Liz, just turned 40 (2 weeks ago) and pregnant with No. 1 on second IVF attempt. Due 23 April, finding out in two weeks whether there are one or two buns in the oven.

intoit - I'm very sorry for your loss. On the day I found out I was pregnant a friend lost her baby the day before her due date so it's made me a bit paranoid. I hope you're able to heal, take the time you need, and that you're back stronger than ever when the time is right. hug2.gif

LeavesofLaurel, I'd LOVE to follow a thread devoted to your farm plans. It's a dream of DH's and mine to retire early and work a farm...probably mostly for our own sustenance.

Hi Rosie~

I will keep you'all updated as I can :) so sweet to know you are interested in my farm plans & dreams. I'd love to hear about yours too.

We just moved to this land in April 2013 and this is sorta the "groundbreaking" and getting to know the land season. I have plans to expand to a full on herbal medicine and tea line with a few acres in production within a few years. Currently we have a large veggie garden and the first little herb plot going.

Honestly I am a bit overwhelmed by the timing... I live in Oregon where almost everything wants to start getting in the ground (or started in the greenhouse for later season growing) around my due date!!!  Oh my. We'll see if we can enlist the help of friends and family even just to help the place from getting overgrown during what will probably be a very slow season for me. In my mind I always planned a fall or winter baby to accommodate the farm season or to at least have had one more season under my belt before we started having kids.... silly me, of course I am having a baby smack in the beginning of Spring !!! I love it! and my priorities have shifted.... this baby will be the most important growth of the coming seasons...  other things can wait.

Curious if anyone else has had a pregnancy right in the middle of starting a business? I would love any hints-- either on moving forward OR letting go. I imagine its a dance.

Hi everyone. My name is Katreena. I've lived in Anchorage, Alaska since 2004. I have two children, born 2005 and 2006 when I was almost 30 and 31, respectively. I'm surprised to find myself in a due date club at my age. I am now 39 and happily find myself pregnant with my third. Although we had sex just the one time, I failed to record the date. I think it was July 28th, but I'm not certain. My typical menstrual cycle lasts 27 days. The technical first date of my LMP was July 13th, although it always starts with a couple days of spotting, then has 3 days of heavy bleeding, and finally tapers off with a couple days of spotting. I'm not sure if I should count the spotting days or start with the actual first day of real period bleeding when estimating a gestational age. I remember feeling a pinching/cramping around the time of ovulation, from the left, which also happened both other times I was pregnant. I had spotting 2 days before my period was due, on August 7th, so I think that was when the egg implanted. Which brings me to guessing my estimated due date as being perhaps the 22nd or 23rd of April, but I'm just not sure. When I had a urine pregnancy test performed, their computer estimated April 19th. My first prenatal appointment is with Dr. Glen Elrod's wife, a midwife working with him, named Tara Elrod. They work at Integrated Women's Wellness and Center for Birth. They were highly recommended to me by midwife/doula friends of mine because they are all about empowering women through the pregnancy/birth experience. I unhappily experienced two cesarean deliveries despite efforts for a natural childbirth both times. I am hoping for a vbac this time around, again. I was a SAHM with my first two, and this time I am working full-time at an early learning center in the infants room for the past year and a half. I am worried about how working will affect this baby after it is born. I am hoping to take at least 4 months off, and return to work in September, after school starts again for my older two children. I still have worries and concerns since  I strongly believe in breastfeeding exclusively the first 6-8 months, and plan to breastfeed, and pump, until the baby is at least two years old. I was able to breastfeed my oldest until my pregnancy with my second brought my lactation to an end. I made up for it, though, by breastfeeding my second until she was 35 months old.

Welcome Katreena :) To answer your question about the first day of your last cycle, the first day is considered the first day of full bleeding. Technically the first few days of spotting are counted as part of the previous cycle. Hope this helps!

I lost my baby too. Partial molar pregnancy. Please remove my name from the list.
