Pillow Question

Are any of you using those big, "U" shaped body pillows to sleep? And if so, are they worth it? I keep seeing ads and they look amazing... just not sure if they're worth the money.

Right now, I just use one of those sort of half-body pillows for some extra support while sleeping. It works fine, and I'm generally a pretty good sleeper. I probably don't need anything else, but I also wouldn't mind pampering myself a little if it was worth it!

Never tried, but same question!

I used about four pillows by the end.  Varying thicknesses, and still not quite there on the sleeping comfortable front.

Yes they are worth it!  I got one off of craigslist when I was pregnant with my 3rd and it was glorious.  I'll be pulling it out soon.  I'd sleep with it even when not pregnant if I didn't feel silly.

I don't have one of the U shaped pillows, but I have one of the straight body pillows that's almost as long as I am tall. I wouldn't say I *love* it, but it keeps my hips from hurting. If I don't sleep with it, my hips are sure to hurt the next day. If I do, I'm good. However, I feel like having to go get it every night (because it's too big to stay on my bed) is a PITA. I feel more like I put up with it because it prevents pain.

My husband has had one for years, it does wonders for his back pain while sleeping.  I haven't felt the need for anything special yet - I sleep with my regular pillow, my back up against the side of his big body pillow, and a very flat pillow between my knees, which is how I've slept for ages.  I have had the thought that I might get one of the U shaped ones later, use it for the latter part of my pregnancy, and then pass it to him afterward since his has gotten a bit flat.  But I don't know if I'll need it.

I have this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001A0M3LI/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1375584574&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY190

I like the back support. I always sleep with a body pillow in front of me but this really helped with late preg back pain.

My sister just gave me this Back 'N Belly pillow. I am going to buy a replacement pillow case for it, just on principle so I haven't slept with it yet, but I think I will like it.

wow, those look nice.  But with a queen size bed, does anyone's DH fit still?  Some of those look bigger than a person.

Mine fits but sleeps on the edge ;-) I don't like to touch while sleeping anyway so its fine.

When we had a queen size bed, I was nearly pushed off of it by that pillow.  But with a king, I think we could both have one and fit pretty nicely still. If you are both slender it would work better, I think.

I slept with my U shaped pillow last night in my queen size bed. It does take up quite a bit of space, DH's amount of room is reduced, but he still had enough room to move around. I have to say I think I slept better with it, so that is nice.Maybe just the novelty of it so far, I guess I will have to wait and see.
