Take that test, Mo! with my first it took a couple of days post expected AF date to actually see a result. Good luck! my fingers are crossed for you!

Since no one else will understand the beauty of this, can I show you guys my chart? My LP temps have never looked so pretty! Normally they are doing a yo-yo dance at this point, but these are just beautiful. I know it doesn't mean I will get pregnant this cycle, but I think acupuncture and the fertility tea have clearly helped.
You should be able to see last cycle's chart for comparison, also. My temp only got above 98 degrees twice! That and the spotting/bleeding is what made me think I messed up my progesterone levels.
Still keeping my fingers crossed!post #64 of 2738/12/13 at 6:55pm
I broke down and told hubs that I'm late...like 5 days late tomorrow and that there might be a bun in the oven. He, of course is elated, but I'm feeling some kinda way. Like if its negative, I'll be disappointed. If it's positive, then I'll be over the moon. Two very extreme emotions and I don't know if I'm ready to know the truth...gee wiz!post #65 of 2738/13/13 at 4:02am
TeaJunkie That is a pretty chart! I'm jealous lol.
MonkeyScience Thanks for the insight. It REALLY really frustrates me how little even fertility specialists know about PCOS, or care to know or educate their patients. When I was diagnosed she didn't even tell me any of the health risks/diseases associated with PCOS. To my knowledge the only way PCOS was effecting me was I had acne and I couldn't get pregnant. She helped me get pregnant and sent me on my merry way. A year later ... I happened to search "PCOS" in Pinterest just to see (I was sick of acne and wanted a solution!) and I was blown away by all of the information out there about PCOS. Both the risks and the SOLUTIONS. There are solutions! The doctor didn't mention anything other than pills. Nothing about diet or lifestyle. Maybe since I'm skinny she thought I didn't need to hear it. Whatever the reason it is just so wrong. So many women have PCOS these days, every doctor should know how to diagnose it and have resources and information to offer other than drugs to mask the symptoms. Ugh! *rant over*
NaturallyMo Test already!! :)post #66 of 2738/13/13 at 6:10am
Tantylynn - Have you ever checked out the SoulCysters forum? It's not quite as nice to navigate as this one, but it's all about/for PCOS sufferers. And yeah, the doc who diagnosed me with PCOS was basically like, "Here's a couple of meds, have fun!" The first doc who figured out I wasn't ovulating (but didn't figure out I had PCOS) just said it wasn't an issue till I wanted to get pregnant. Um. No. My body totally failing to perform a natural function is NOT okay!post #67 of 2738/13/13 at 6:38am
MonkeyScience So crazy! Yeah I did sign up when I was first diagnosed but found the site too messy and frustrating to find information. Have you heard of Woman Code by Alisa Vitti? I'm trying out her nutritional protocol right now for balancing hormones. Loving it so far :) She has a TED talk on youtube - definitely worth a watch!post #68 of 2738/13/13 at 7:14amha, I got on here to rant about ovulation and looks like everyone else is too.
vacation went ok, we got lots of "alone" time, but I really thought I was going to O on Sunday. according to those darn pink line strips... I didn't, and haven't. now I'm starting to second guess myself and think maybe I stopped testing too soon *last* month, maybe I never got a real positive for O last month... heck, maybe I never O'd at all! now I'm really freaked out. and also really ready for this cycle to be done so I can start fresh.
and something weird, I have a ton of planning apps on my phone, and one of them told my calendar that I should expect to O on the 17th. I went whaa?? cuz when I looked, they were all saying Saturday or Sunday. maybe it was some kind of a sign, heh. (I get superstitious when I'm nervous.)post #69 of 2738/13/13 at 8:15am
Does anyone have a favorite thermometer? I'm trying to find one with a backlight that doesn't beep like a fire alarm is going off or something. My poor husband freaks out when the thermometer I have goes off.
monkeyscience - good to see you here! I totally stalked the bitter sushi ladies thread a couple years ago when I was trying to get pregnant with #1.post #70 of 2738/13/13 at 10:11am
I am officially 5 days late and I tested last night. I got a BFN. Hubs still seems hopeful but I don't know. I feel kinda disappointed not to see positive pop up. My husband was so excited when I told him last night that I might be pregnant. Sigh. This is so frustrating. Maybe I will just end up skipping this month, although I'm not sure what that will mean for us with trying next month.post #71 of 2738/13/13 at 11:48am
NatuallyMo - If AF isn't here tomorrow, test with FMU! This early in a pregnancy the hormone levels can be too low to turn a test positive any other time of day. It's most concentrated when you've been holding it all night. Sending BFP vibes your way!
MakeItSew - I can't find a basal thermometer that is backlit! My kids wake up before the room is light enough to read the thermometer, so I often have to roll over to the window to check it. And mine beeps loudly, even when I try to use my whole hand to smother it.post #72 of 2738/13/13 at 1:03pmpost #73 of 2738/13/13 at 1:47pmwell, after hours of grueling forum research (lol), I decided it was ok to test opk again this afternoon. (I'd only been doing FMU.) and I got clear white. so maybe those half positives were all I get? does that mean something bad about my hormone levels? yay, more stuff to worry about :-/ or maybe the forums I read were wrong about afternoon tests I'll probably try again tomorrow to make sure, but for now I'm assuming that wraps it up for my first cycle. you may call me waiting to know!!!post #74 of 2738/13/13 at 5:59pmI'm not sure what's going on right now. This is our 3rd cycle of TTC and my first at temping/charting. Right now I'm at CD 33 with no clear signs of O (per FF). My temps just go up and down so much. My cycles are usually 34-38 days long. Now I'm freaking out thinking I may never ovulate or have problems with ovulation! I used wondfo opks and never got a real +. Ugh... Part of me is hoping I'm just getting the hang of temping/charting and nothing is seriously wrong. I tend to think the worst. So, anyway, I guess I'm waiting to O? Not really sure.post #75 of 2738/14/13 at 5:38am
Latest update: I held my pee all night (as you guys suggested) and tested again this morning with an early response test. Yet again I got a BFN and AF is officially 6 days late. Hubs seems to think that I really am pregnant and at this point I don't know what to think. He mentioned that I didn't seem too excited about everything but I told him I'm just afraid of feeling disappointed if it turns out to be true that I'm not so I'm trying to stay neutral about everything.
I haven't had any of the normal signs I tend to have right before AF (i.e., cramping, thick cervical mucus/discharge, diarrhea, and a slight odor). These are all the normal signs that let me know she will be here in 24-48 hours and I haven't seen any of them since my last cycle back at the beginning of July. I'm not sure what my plan will be going forward for now. I think I'll wait to see if there is any change by the weekend. If not, then I think its time to see a Doc to make sure everything is ok. And who knows, maybe my body is just skipping a month.
Last thing: I told Hubs that its ironic that I'm supposed to O in about 7 days.post #76 of 2738/14/13 at 8:03am
tantylynn - Yeah, I've had the same experience with SoulCysters, but have managed to pull some useful info out of it. It also used to be super-slow to load, but I think it's gotten better on that count. If you're interested in non-prescriptions supplements to help with PCOS, I highly suggest the blog returntogobaby.com as a starting point. She has a tab at the top that says "Supplements" where she talks about individual supplements and links to the studies supporting their use. The author is actual (or was in the past) here on Mothering, but I'm totally spacing on her username at the moment. I will have to check out the video you mentioned.
MakeItSew - Wow, funny that you remember me from so long ago! I love your username, btw. I remember seeing it a long time ago and thinking it was awesome. As far as thermometers, I really like my BD Basal Thermometer. It's backlit, and it also has a memory feature, so sometimes I just turn it off without even looking at it, and check later in the day. It does beep as it goes, but if I put my finger right on the little hole above the battery lid, it mutes it enormously. Also, I finally remembered today to try a trick I learned from my SIL (who uses it on excessively loud children's toys) - I put a piece of Scotch tape over the sound hole. It does make it quieter. My bet is that if you put just a tiny piece of cotton ball over it and held it on with tape, it would mute it almost completely.
TeaJunkie - See comment above about thermometers. :)
NaturallyMo - Ugh, that sounds so frustrating! And I know what you mean about trying not to hope so you don't get let down. That's kind of where I'm at this cycle, but I know I'm still getting my hopes up, anyway.
Jayray - Wow, 5 previous temps? That would be awesome! Do you know what kind it was?
clarwyn - Most of the stuff I've seen says that afternoon is the best time to test for ovulation, so I'd be interested to know what you read and where. Although since I got TWO days of very positive OPKs (which was very confusing!), I guess it's working well enough for me! I know when my son was conceived, my +OPK was definitely darker than all my previous OPKs, but I was a little iffy on if it was actually as dark as the control line. The two +OPKs I had this time were very obviously just as dark. I don't suppose you took pictures we could look at? And unfortunately, yes, wonky OPKs can be a sign of hormonal issues. But if this is your first cycle using them, I wouldn't freak out about that just yet. Do you normally have regular cycles? Do you do any other fertility monitoring (temping, checking CM/CP, etc.)?
brooksfam - Do you notice any correlation between how well you sleep and what your temps are like? I know if I have an exceptional restless night, it sends my temps waaaay up. But I also have a fair amount of variation in my temps when I'm sleeping well, too. Can you post a link to your chart so we can see?
Also, to everyone - just tell me to shut up if you don't want me being nosy or offering advice about charting and such. I promise not to take it personally!
AFM, feeling pretty sure I'm not pregnant. By this point with my son, I was having intense implantation cramping. (Which at the time I thought was a sure sign my period was coming!) This time, nothing. I feel absolutely normal. Also, my chart doesn't look similar at all - a lot more ups and downs in my luteal phase, where last time it was pretty much all up. I know every pregnancy is different, but I'm just not feeling this cycle. I guess we will see. I'm also trying to hold out to test till Sunday, which would be the day AF is due, but tomorrow is 10 DPO, which could be early enough for a BFP...post #77 of 2738/14/13 at 10:10am
So I have an update:
The night before I expected to ovulate (We BD'd 36-48 hours prior) I had a dream (and this weird cool feeling) that I conceived and have felt different ever since. I've had cramps/bloating (which is very unusual for me especially at this point in the cycle) since the morning I believe I conceived... then yesterday I had body aches...and today I have nausea/light headed for about 4 hours since 9:30am this morning.. and I also had cold sweats for about 20 min.. I had some bigger cramps Monday night and last night as well as a little spotting. I am currently on CD19, 6DPO(possibly 7?). I'm contemplating taking a test tomorrow morning even tho it's really too early. I dont expect a BFP that early but it would end this insufferable waiting if it was...
Ugh if this ends with AF I am going to be really surprised/disappointed and CONFUSED?? (Why am I feeling like this then??)
On the other hand I hope I'm feeling better on our vacation next week. I didn't expect to feel this sick this fast.
Baby dust to everyone!post #78 of 2738/14/13 at 10:56ampost #79 of 2738/14/13 at 2:00pm
Monkeyscience, thanks for your help. I sleep amazingly well every night and get about 8-9 hours per night. I never toss and turn. I always temp at 5:30am. At the beginning of my cycle, I temped two hours later on a Saturday, but that's it. Here's a link to my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/46df79
It's a hot mess. After two days in a row of increased temps, I'm thinking maybe O came? It's so late for me though. CD 32 for O seems crazy when I usually have a 34-38 cycle. Anyway, thanks for taking time to look at it. Any concerns, feedback, etc are always welcome!
BTW- I'm using a CVS (drugstore) brand BBT. Does anyone find it necessary to spend extra bucks on a nicer one?post #80 of 2738/14/13 at 5:24pm
I have the BD Basal Thermometer too and put my finger over the sound hole to mute as well lol. I'll have to try the tape/cotton! Thanks MonkeyScience and also for the link for supplements - checking it out now!
Activia Sounds promising! Fingers crossed for you!
NaturallyMo Oh man :( hope you get a definite answer soon!
AFM My temp is still up at 12DPO! Pre DD my temp always dropped 12DPO before AF came. But this is my first charted cycle since DD so maybe my LP is longer now? Really wish I had some internet cheapies handy!! I'm trying to ignore nauseousness today and convince myself it's because I broke my healthy eating streak yesterday and had white bread, 2 cookies and a cupcake at FIL's bday party. And that my boobs are aching occasionally because DD is still nursing, even though she's 16 months and my supply is well and truly settled. I just really don't want to read too much into it and then be disappointed!!
