Anyone preparing to go back to work or already at work?
I still have a while left...September 16th but it's coming rapidly!
The thing I worry about the most is having enough milk pumped and frozen to prepare for the shortage that always occurs for me. Even though I only work 3 days per week and see the baby at lunch on those days, my babies always consume more at home while I am away than I can pump at work. I've been pumping since Zach turned 2 weeks old. I just counted my stash and I have thirty seven 3.5-4oz bottles frozen so far in thirty four days. I think this is the most I've ever pumped in this time frame. I still have about 20 days at home to pump and store more. So I should have about 60.. With continuing to pump through the first year, I should not need to supplement until Zach is a year old or so (and then we use raw goats milk.)
We have a 2 week vacation right before I go back to work, so I will need to take my pump and just dump what I pump so that I keep up my supply. I know it's not huge, but I'm actually doing better than usual. I envy those who can pump a lot at once.but am grateful I can manage to use only breastmilk through the first year. We'll continue to nurse as long as he wants (usually 2 or 3 years) but I won't worry about pumping then.
What are you doing to prepare or what are you concerned about?
