What's your birth plan? - Page 3
HBAC, probably another water birth. I just found out my midwife who I adore may be out of the country for most of my pregnancy, but *should* be back by the birth. She'll know more by the end of october. honestly, right now my plan is do to my own prenatal care while she is away and throughout most of the pregnancy. we're close friends so i'll be checking in with her a bunch regularly. i would do a UC except I really don't want to be worrying about checking my blood loss or if i needed to do an emergency stuff after the birth. I'm my midwife's assistant so i have the knowledge and the skill, but i'd feel better having her there just in case at the birth, and because hse is an amazing support person for me. anyways...if she'll be out of the country still we'll be choosing a different midwife in the area (all of whom i know rather well) but hopefully it will be a combination of an unassisted pregnancy with my midwife there for the birth.
Just heard back from the midwives office today! We have the same primary and backup midwives as last time, which is great cause I really liked both of them and thought they did a good job. Our first appointment is set for Sept. 11th, let the fun begin! It will be nice to catch up with them too.
Looks like I'm the odd one out, but I'll be having a scheduled c-section. This will be my fourth, and the other three have all been either surprises or emergencies. I am actually feeling relieved that I already know how I will be giving birth this time around -- I will always be disappointed that I have never been able to have a vaginal birth, but I have tried very hard to have that experience, and trying is going to have to be good enough for me.
