Emerging from lurk-dom here...
For the first time in any of my pregnancies I'm having a bit of an issue with morning sickness. And I say "bit" because I know waaaay too many women who DEFINITELY have issues with morning sickness, for me to truly complain! With me, it's more a lack of appetite, the idea of sweet foods often turn my stomach, and nausea usually hits shortly after I've eaten, which does not improve my appetite! I've found sour candies can help, although strong lemon-water works just as well and is obviously healthier.
Happily my fatigue (or shall I call it exhaustion) is starting to ease. One day a couple weeks ago my husband let me sleep for a total of 12 hours straight, and just 3 hours later I felt desperately tired again. RIDIKULUS!!!
Otherwise... had my first midwife appointment today at 8w5d. Before hand I was pretty anxious about going back to their office where we first realized something was wrong with DD, but my husband came with me, and the midwife made a point of keeping things lighthearted (love her!). We didn't even check for a heartbeat as my midwife told me we were very unlikely to find it, got an req. for an early u/s instead.
I'm hoping once we get a positive u/s I might be able to talk DH into spilling the beans to people. I've told only a handful of people so far but it's kind of hard not to tell others, when it's such a big thing in our lives right now!
Also found out my MW will arrange one consult further on with one of the best OBs in the area. Considering our loss history, it's just a good idea, but I know of him through the local crunchy community as he is the one EVERYONE recommends for a high-risk natural birth (twins, breech...) Sooo happy that if we end up having to switch for any reason it will be to him.
planegreen - I know how stressful NOT having symptoms can be, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. Be sure to update for us on Monday!
