I've always had a sewing room since The Hubby and I have been married, but it's never been clean, organized, or a haven. So I'm changing that.
My mom came a few months ago and helped me cull my fabric stash and categorize the remaining yardage. I'm trying to get to a place in my life where I'm making a bit of income from my sewing, so I needed to know what fabric was allocated to what endeavors (doll clothes, kids clothes, women's nursing clothes). All of that was shoved into cardboard boxes and hidden in the closet.
The past week I was able to convey to The Hubby my ideas for the room, and we were off running! I woke up Thursday morning to several clear totes just waiting for fabric. After transferring fabric from cardboard to plastic I worked on sorting my trims, threads, and elastics. Anything not wanted made it's way to the curb and was picked up by passer-bys.
I can see my floor! It's amazing to be able to move around, before I was hemmed in (ha! pun!) by all the clutter. I'm ready to do some sewing!
