What are you eating?

Seems like the queasiness is really setting in here. How are you all coping, and what's sounding good?

MEAT. Lots of red, red meat! I had an organic corn tostada with grass fed beef, refried beans, raw cheese, and salad and I pretty much died. My appetite is still pretty good, though.

No nausea here. But so far it's been fruit for breakfast, chocolate type stuff for snacks, sandwhiches for lunch, and some kinda meat for dinner. Fish sticks really hit the spot the other day, as did salmon. Pasta sounds good too. I made sidekicks yesterday. That's not even really food but I was craving it. Icecream for dessert. Nomnomnom.

Cheese and tomato everything! It is all that seems to settle ok in my belly. Grilled on sandwiches for lunch or just cut and cold.

Trying to stay healthy with lots of veggies/salads and some lean meats. Desperately trying to not give in to every craving as I already am carrying extra pounds from 1st pregnancy.

Oddly enough my normally immense sweet tooth has disappeared and been replaced with a craving for spinach salads. Soooo I'm just going with that for now and not complaining lol!

I dreamed about this last night.  Ha.  Hit the spot for lunch, and am anticipating another for dinner.  Great timing as I'm overloaded in the garden tomato dept. thumb.gif

All I want is fruit...especially peaches! Good thing there's a farm across the street :)

Really hearty, "cold weather" foods. Steak (hubby made some last night, soooo amazing!), mac and cheese, roasts with lots of veggies, etc. But green smoothies and greek yogurt, too.

I am going to watch this thread for ideas because I am having so many food aversions & don't know what to eat! I'm mostly eating potato chips, corn chips & cheese & pickles. I'm gluten free & been on a mostly paleo diet for the last few months but now nothing sounds good and all I want is bread & cheese. I haven't given in to the bread yet. I feel bad & even embarrassed with the way I eat in first trimester, it was the same last time - I pretty much ate "white foods" and lots of take out for 15-16 weeks :/. I need ideas!

Fruit cravings too, nectarines/plums/peaches.  I am trying to eat them with protein and not overdo.

I had a couple stressful weeks and gave in to the sugar and junk food big time. Sadly I woke up with a sore throat greensad.gif

So now I'm hitting the Weston A. Price stuff hard! I had several glasses of raw milk yesterday, homemade short ribs and tons of steamed broccoli. Now I'm making a giant batch of chicken broth and downing fermented cod liver oil. I feel better already winky.gif

I'm fairly new to the WAPF style of eating, but their pregnancy recommendations are pretty intense. Is anyone else eating that way? I don't know that I'll ever be able to drink a quart of milk a day, but I'll give it a shot.

I remember feeling pretty wiped out throughout my last pregnancy and I feel pretty good so far with this one. So we'll see.

I try.  We haven't had a good source for raw milk in awhile, but when I did I think I probably came close to a quart between homemade kefir & yogurt.   Tonight I'm going to roast a chicken & serve it with a big salad with tomatoes from the garden. I'll start my stock after.  smile.gif

I am really wiped out.  DD is nursing a TON (molars, maybe?), and I'm starving/nauseous/starving/nauseous.  Losing weight.  I've been eating ice cream before bed most nights, truthfully, just to get some calories in and keep the hunger-nausea at bay during the night. (and really, what better way? yummy.gif duck.gif)

Sorry you don't have any raw milk around and that you're feeling wiped out greensad.gif. You may want to look into a cowshare program. I think they do that in some places where raw milk isn't available commercially. I've never made or eaten kefir, but I just ordered the grains. It sounds so yummy!

And I TOTALLY hear you with the ice cream! I've been craving it like crazy and want to try making it myself, but I need to buy an ice cream maker first and don't have anywhere to put it.

My DD is also nursing a lot right now. I think she knows I'm pregnant. She's very intuitive eyesroll.gif and I think she's milking me dry while she knows she can.

I have been eating a primarily WAP/paleo diet for the last 5 months and was determined to follow it through pregnancy. However- now in having all kinds of aversions to meat, eggs, veggies. Pretty much just want bread & cheese & thankfully have unlimited raw milk from our goat. I am doing a cup of homeade stock a day which is good. I'm hoping to get back on track after first trimester. So glad you are feeling better!

I craved eggs with my last child, especially at the end, I had to have over medium eggs with a piece of toast at least once a day.

Is anyone not feeling very hungry, it makes me just a bit nervous, but I am not really very hungry this last week or so.  I have to make sure I am eating enough, unless it is a piece of fruit, maybe that is because I can just grab that.  I don't feel like cooking at all :/

Eggs; cheese, GF rice crackers, and roast beef, with raspberry jam; smoothies; Moroccan mint green tea; milkshakes; berries with homemade coconut whipped cream.

Everything! Omg, I have been constantly starving the last week or so. It's like I can't get full. I've been trying to stick to fairly healthy and nutrient-rich foods. I've been doing mostly oatmeal or cottage cheese and pineapple for breakfast. Dinner we do a lot of things liked baked chicken and vegetables, fish in some kind of sauce, legumes, curries, that sort of thing. I like doing leftovers or salads with protien for lunch, but sometimes I do those Annie's frozen lunches. They're organic but they have a lot of sodium, so I'm trying to only do those in a time pinch.

For snacks I've been obsessed with apples with fresh ground honey roasted peanute butter. I also do fruit, almonds, cashews, rice cakes, carrots and hummus, seaweek chips, yogurt. I just made a bunch of hard boiled eggs and turned some of those into pink pickled eggs (made with beets and apple cider vinegar) so those will be nice to have for a quick and easy protein fix.

I am eating uh... tater tots and burgers.  Pasta with herbs and earth balance. Chicken and miso broth with rice and spinach.   Beans and rice.  Sauteed veggies.  My usual diet minus mushrooms because all of a sudden I find them revolting.  I'm gluten and dairy intolerant, although sometimes I sneak a little cheese.

Also, sunshinemomma - what  deck is the tarot card in your avatar from?  It's gorgeous.
