I had a dream that I was at the store buying 4 different kinds of fancy craft ginger ale. Sitting here trying to find my bearings despite the queasiness and thinking, Man, my dream-self had a really good idea.

Funny because I had a dream that I was growing a brownie tree, and I also thought my dream self had a great idea yummy.gif

I am a recent vegan, so lots of beans and greens and carrots and fruit and crackers and nut butters. We are big juicers but I cannot bring myself to make juice because the whole process takes so long! Nausea hasn´t really kicked in yet, so I am trying to manage to eat nice and healthy for the moment. I have junk food cravings like crazy though. It´s bad! I ate potato chips today! :)

Im struggling with this a little bit already. I never thought I would say that about being pregnant, either.

We thought our triplets would be our last babies and at the start of this year I began a rigidly strict diet and exercise regime to lose weight. I have lost about 40lbs but my eating has changed dramatically. I am so used to eating extremely low fat, very low carb etc now that the idea of not doing it feels wrong. I am hoping that as time goes on my mindset shifts from 'losing weight' to growing baby' and I can relax a little.

I did eat a banana with my breakfast this morning and I havent done that in 6 months... so thats a start.

I'm hungry but nothing really sounds good...I hate that predicament.  Not feeling nauseous, which is good, just off, like heartburn is around the corner.  I used to live for my morning coffee and now want nothing to do with it.  Today I forced myself to take a vitamin and eat a bowl of granola with bananas and blueberries.  I'm starting this pregnancy heavier than I was with any of the others--with DD I was 155lbs, with DS 160lbs, with DS started at 165 and now I'm at 170....ugh to the creeping up and vowing now to work it off preemptively by not gaining it all to begin with!!

Well, this thread has been helpful in trying to figure out what to eat. I've been nauseous and either full or starving (never that happy middle ground). With my previous pregnancy I was eating veggies and carbs and that was the only thing my stomach could handle. Now I'm on a huge fruit kick (good season for it!) and no matter how many carbs I eat I keep feeling ravenously hungry till I get some protein. I'm not a big meat eater so I'm trying to get a good amount of cheese in, will pick up some greek yogurt too. Maybe I can figure out a way to get some pork into my diet (chicken and beef make me want to gag and my usual standby of seafood isn't sounding too great either, hmm...).

Ooh, maybe I should try making some protein/fruit smoothies like I did with DD!
