In Labor or Warming Up for Labor Thread - Page 3
I agree. When I'm busy and running around my level of sensitivity to what is going on in there totally decreases.
We are at ikea at the moment buying the cheapest dishwasher we could find. All the walking and really long day has made the stretching hip pressure even worse. Then all the walking started contractions, lower back pain and sensations down my thighs. I am currently sitting in the car waiting for my husband to return from the store. Lol things seem to be cooling way down now that I'm resting. I feel like it could be any day now. If this were my last pregnancy the babe would come Monday night. And if it were the one before it would be Thursday night! I'm not feeling like ill make it till next weekend!!! Getting excited and nervous!! 39 weeks on Tuesday!!!
I think I've been having BH the past couple nights, but they don't feel like I've heard them described. They feel like menstrual cramps (though sometimes in the upper stomach), often I have to breathe through them, they are painful, and they aren't so defined that I know exactly when they are starting and stopping, but there are definitely intervals I think. I've had this for the past 2 nights and it goes away the next morning. No mucous plug or anything so I don't think it's real labor. I've started taking EPO and Polly blend (I'm 37w5d) so maybe that's why this is happening? Does this sound like BH? Sometimes I think I just ate something that didn't agree with me!
Letnialynne; I hope things progress for you, and I'm also very jealous!
I'm feeling funny today. For a start the baby suddenly feels so low that I constantly feel the need to pee, and my crotch actually hurts from the pressure. I've also just not been feeling right; nauseous and very tired, but naps aren't helping. And having said I never seem to get braxton hicks, I seem to be getting them and period cramp feeling pretty much every night, but only very mild. It would be nice if something happened!
I've been having this too - though to me it's painful. Maybe this is BH afterall? Well I hope things progress for you!
Letnia - Oooh - you are making progress, hopefully in a few days you're baby will be ready to meet you.
kali still having the painful maybe BH?
nettlesoup- ugh what a pain. I get like that too. Something about night makes my uterus act up but by morning I feel totally normal. I'm only 37+4.
Dh and I dtd last night for the first time in probably 2 months. I did it more for him because I know it's been so long and after the baby he'll have a good long wait too. He was nervous thinking it would put me in labor. Silly guy. It did make me very crampy and very uncomfortable for a few hours. I had a few contractions but nothing significant. I don't think I'll be doing that again!
Mamamash; I'm thinking of the opposite! I'm tempted to DTD more in hope of making something happen, although right now is a bit early really being only 38 weeks. I really feel like at least 40 weeks. I did 10 minutes of gardening there, maybe that'll help although it's more likely to make me unable to walk for the next few days.
When I get BH, they do feel different that "real" (productivbe?) contractions. When one is coming on, I can actually feel it in my breathing-almost like I'm suddenly getting short of breath. That doesn't seem to happen when I'm having real contractions. While sometimes it does hurt down near my cervix, or have a period/cramping pain with them, it's more like the higher/top of my stomach/uterus gets the hardest, and that's where I feel it the most.
For me, real, productive contractions are like period cramps, but eventually get stronger than what a period is like. That being said, I have always had wickedly painful periods, so that's my frame of reference.
I have been having more BH, no more than maybe 2-3 an hour at the most occasionally. This baby is still super, super high, so I'm not getting any of the constant pressure or achiness of baby against my cervix too much, so I feel safe in assuming that labor is very far off for me still-of course I'm only 36 weeks, so that's not too surprising.
I feel like I may have dropped over the weekend too. My belly feels lower and his bum doesn't feel as high as it had been. He was very active yesterday too.
I think I better go to the store today and make sure I have snacks and things made up for the midwives just in case.
Me too, but I told my little one Sunday! My baby shower is on Saturday, I wanna at least make it through that. I had a few horrible braxton hicks over the last hour. I'm dilated more today too but that doesn't mean much.
Are you still feeling sick? I've heard it could be a real sign of labor starting btw. Happened to a girlfriend. She was barfing 3 days and then a few days later-- had contractions. She decided to be induced so she's not sure it was labor. I read that vomiting and/or flu symptoms is early labor. You might be there already mama!
Omg I'd be so done too! How many weeks are you now?
