having to be induced :-(

So I found out today that if my baby boy isn't here by next week my doctor will induce me on Wednesday. I was hoping my little man would arrive in his own but so far NOTHING is happening (no dilation and no effacement) so I know an induction will probably have to happen, which is fine I don't mind at all, but I am scared of ending up in a c-section....can anyone five me some peace of mind and tell me your birthing story of induction???

What is the reason for the induction?  If it's just for lateness then I would hesitate to induce.  If you need to feel that Baby is doing well then go in for a bio-physical profile.

My first was born at 43 weeks and my second at 42+2.  Sometimes babies take their sweet time coming, but it's definitely worth the wait.  One of the best things about a late baby is they aren't so fragile, it makes them much easier to handle.

I was induced with my second (my water broke and was meconium-stained) and I had a 7-hour labour with no other interventions, and a 9lb 11oz healthy boy born vaginally! It can happen!

Read up on ALL your options for induction (cervidil, Foley bulb, AROM) and advocate for yourself! Pitocin is not fun, so if you can avoid it, you should try.

And think positively! I've heard of more than one woman lately going into labour after having a heartfelt chat with their fetus. Let your baby know how important it is that they come today, and that you are ready!

Good luck!

I was induced with DD2 and had a 30 minutes no interventions labour - I was 38 plus 3 weeks and had maternal diabetes plus a couple of other problems (medical)

Everything went just fine (and the short delivery were probably due to her being my third :) )

Good luck mama!
