Special needs stroller need help!!

Thread Starter
My daughter almost 5 yrs has had developmental delays all her life and been "quirky". Walked at 22 months...the dry thought she was on the spectrum till about 2.5 -3. Got ruled out by a developmental ped. She has also had speach delays. She had 3 words at 20 months. She has many problems with transitions
She now wears high back SMO orthotics.

We have since had the diagnosis of Senory processing disorder moderate to service
Regulatory disorder
Mild low muscle tone
Gate disturbance

She is now 40lbs and 43 in tall.

She can walk, but tires easily due to low tone. And often has melt downs or needs sensory breaks...

I have used a zooper twist stroller for all errands and outings till recently She is now getting too big

I talked to her PMNR dr today. He suggested she see a neurologist and get a special needs stroller he wrote a prescription for one.

My question is: how do we get a more solid definite diagnosis and also get the special needs stroller covered by insurance??? What strollers do you as moms of special neeeds kids reccamend??

Thank you

Shannon

I work with special needs children in a school, and rather than a stroller our kids who can't walk use wheelchairs.

Is your dd receiving services through school?

Yeah, if a jogging stroller is too small, a wheelchair is probably your next move.
