Does it ever get better :(
One day soon you will be amazed at how much better you will feel!!
I have a 5 month old and definitely felt the same way you do in the beginning. I could not believe how BFing could hurt more than labour! I remember trying to take deeeeep breaths and count in my head to 30 or so until the pain would start to subside. I had milk blisters and could not slather the lavolin on enough! (Not that I think that it did much good but it was all I had!)
Showering was all about massaging the chest rocks and the feel of the towel even slightly brushing my nipples was enough to bring on the water works for sure! I was convinced that this was just how it felt and I needed to get used to it.
Then somehow at about 4-5 weeks I realized I wasn't counting anymore and that I could wrap a towel around myself without even cringing. All of a sudden I was happily feeding my baby and there wasn't a single tear being shed!
One of these days (and it will be soon) you will catch yourself saying to another new mum "yes, I remember it hurt at the beginning too but then it stopped so don't give up"!!
