Weight Loss Ideas for Women - Turbocharge Your Metabolism: 3 Secrets to Lose Weight Quickly

Successful dieting needs some persistence and planning, the rewards will be worth it. You'll feel happier, more confident and more comfortable with yourself. Go on the internet or the library to find safe and effective weight loss ideas for women.

However, healthy slimming doesn't happen overnight. Give yourself at least a month to see significant improvement. Start a log book, with your beginning weight and the date, to be sure of improvements.

Be careful to weigh yourself only once a week, at the same time every day. For example, when you first wake up in the morning after your weight has stabilized from the previous days intake. Or perhaps when you go for the weekly meeting and weigh-in at Weight Watchers, or your local diet group.

If you think that one month is too long to see enough weight loss, remember that eating a good diet and exercising can be fun. Eating healthier foods and starting new habits will improve how you look and feel. You'll be happier, and more comfortable with yourself. Looking healthier, slimmer, and wearing better fitting clothes will be a bonus.

How can you turbocharge your metabolism to achieve an effective and healthy weight loss?

Secret 3: Follow a Fat Burning Diet

A good fat burning diet includes all the foods that help to speed up your metabolism and boost your body's ability to burn excess calories. Research for foods like avocados, cinnamon, chilli, and dark chocolate, to find out how they can help boost your fat burning power and drop extra poundage.

Talk to a dietician about juice cleanses. This can help your digestive system eliminate toxins and other residues that inhibit your body from absorbing essential nutrients in your food. This will promote weight loss and is an effective way to detox.

Secret 2: Aerobic Exercises

Aerobic exercises cause your metabolism to work faster, and need more calories, and will maintain this increase for at a length of time even after the workout. These type of exercise help oxygenate your body tissues, and will boost your metabolism to make you burn more calories. Try bike riding, elliptical training, power walking, running, or swimming 4 to 5 times a week.

Secret 1: Strength Training Workouts

Strength training work-outs will also rev up your metabolic rate, and can be done 2 to 3 days each week. Lift weights or wear ankle weights while power walking. Push-ups and abdominal crunches daily can also increase your metabolism for the rest of the day.

Strength training increases your muscle mass, and muscles burn up more calories than fat. The more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn.

Secret 1: Do Strength Training Workouts

A safe rule of thumb is that a successful weight loss plan is 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise. So reconsider, before eating foods high in sugar and fat.

If you've done good dieting plan research and purchased a great diet book, course, or membership, and taken some time to craft a sensible dieting plan, you'll be able to stay on track. Look around on the internet or go to the library to find safe and effective weight loss ideas for women.

Good advice.  I would like to make add a little to it.

With regards to aerobic exercise, a lot of current research suggests that you get better results, especially in terms of boosting metabolism, from short, intense exercise sessions instead of longer lower intensity workouts.

For example, I like to ride my bike, but a couple of days a week I'll ride a couple of miles to warm up, then do a 30 second full-out sprint followed my 90 seconds of easy peddling and repeat that 7 times.  It's only four minutes of going hard, but believe me it's tough.

I also think it's a good idea to vary your calorie intake.  If you consistently eat fewer calories than you consume your body reacts by slowing your metabolism.  it's a built in survival mechanism you can't avoid.  If you eat more some days and less others you can run an overall calories deficit without slowing your metabolism.  Combine that with high intensity exercise and you're in good shape.

thanks for the post

if i may add another strategy

- two days a week, only eat 200 calories ( from protein, vegetables, fruit, a little fat too) for breakfast and 300 calories for dinner and fast for lunch

drink  a lot of non caloric drinks during the day

- the other 5 days, eat as you are used to eating (so that you don't feel deprived)

you'll loose about one pound per week

it's been popular in the UK since August 2012 and is called the 5:2 diet

i baught the Dr Mosley book for GBP 2.99 in a supermaket .... and don't regret that little expense since i've been trying to loose weight for 8 years .... this is the only strategy that i've been able to implement and follow & see results .... & feel "i can do that !"

I would just add what Chris from the TV show Extreme Weight Loss emphasizes - look for a fitness community.  The only enhancement to what he says I would add is to include an online fitness community as an option.  There are lots of resources online that you can take advantage of.

Very sound, accurate advice.  Thank you for sharing!

The 5:2 diet sounds similar to the "intermittent fasting" which has become quite popular, fasting for much of the day on 2 alternate days a week and then eating normally the rest of the week.  I've finally been able to lose weight using this method.  I also try to stay hydrated and eat salads and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and brussel sprouts. For protein, I eat lean meats, chicken and fish, and I never fry but rather bake them.

Thanks for sharing these 3 secrets to losing weight quickly.  Joining an online support group and/or any community that supports healthy food and lifestyle choices is a great start to keeping the weight off.

It is amazing how many of my co-workers (me included) can lose weight (when we are challenged to do so).

I agree, although it may sound cliche, that attitude is everything.  Spacing out the weigh ins are a great idea too.  It can get discouraging if you check too often, although a week might be a long time to receive feedback to keep yourself on track.

Altogether great advice.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this post. I think if you want to lose a few pounds, it's all about nutrition (adding fat-burning  foods to your diet is a great idea) and some exercises. Furthermore, you need to rethink your food habits (avoid processed and junk foods) in order to achieve your desired result. Then, I think another important point is motivation and mind power. You should have a goal which is achievable for you and why you want to do it.
