Update on Silas (another update post #18) - Page 2
Anyhow, so glad to hear such a positive update. Cheers!
How excellent that you have him home! I'm very glad the hospital staff were cooperative with you, but find it frustrating that we have to be such advocates for ourselves to get these things done. You'd think it would be in THEIR best interests, too, to free up that space in the NICU as soon as they could, so they'd be up on the ways to make that happen sooner. Oh, well. Not the important part!
Enjoy having your family alll together again!
I followed your thread when your waters broke early because mine did too. Luckily, there was no admittance to the NICU.
I'm not sure what it means to have a "late pre-term infant" but have already become sensitive to "she's so small" comments. Are you fielding those pretty well mama? Silas looks like he's at a much higher weight then my DD2-- she's a little thing (4lbs 8oz) without the "pudge" of a term newborn but I make small babies. Our ped said mellow and fussy times may be more intense. We are seeing a very mellow little personality and less fussiness then DD1 for sure. But I was a new mom then, maybe I am better now at knowing what and what not to do!
I'm so happy your family is getting on and would love an update! Though I'm sure your quite busy!
