Banana and Calladonna - the end is near, really! Just when I thought I would never go into labor my water broke. I do hope that you can find some ways to at least be more comfortable until your babies arrive. Are there any herbals or homeopathics you can take to encourage things to get moving?
Cathy - that is such a sweet picture. How old is she now?
Me - I am doing pretty well post-partum. My lower back and tailbone are sore which makes sitting up for prolonged periods hard but other than that I am recovering well. Natalie is a sleepy, cuddly, nursing litte cutie and I am just completely in love. DD1 is doing great with a new sister, DD2....not so much. We fully expected her to have a hard time just because of her personality but it is definitely going to be an adjustment for her. We are trying to give her lots of love and cuddles in the mean time. I am soooo thankful for my in-laws. I haven't had to cook, clean, do laundry or put the girls to bed since they have been here which helps a ton with recovering.
Happy birthday Crafty and Skycheat! What a sweet little cupcake.
Banana, it's time to sit down and have 'the talk' with her (we're still assuming it's a girl, right?)! Good luck, I hope things get rolling.
Calladona, My weight plateaued for about 3wks/1 mo, then last week I gained 4 lbs!!!! Food is just looking good to me, too even though I am feeling a little nauseated after eating lately. I hope things get rolling for you too!
My mama and step-father arrived the other day and have been helping out, which is awesome. I wish our place were a little bigger though so DH and I could have some alone time and it not be weird (our walls are like paper). We went to the lake today and did a little swimming and splashing around. That felt sooooooooo good! Then we came home and did dinner and a little hanging out afterward. I started having contractions about 2hrs ago, and they are kind of annoying. I don't really feel like they are productive or have any rhyme or rhythm to them, but they are keeping me up right now. So, I guess I am in toning mode...
Happy birthday Crafty and Skycheat!
Nothing too new. The boys are really inconsistent with nursing and latching on. Josiah does not want to nurse if he's too hungry, just gets too angry and upset so I got really frustrated last night struggling with him for a good 10 minutes just for him to get absolutely no milk.
I've getting frustrated with my weight, too. I still have extra fluid and lots of extra fat. I have 40 lbs to lose! It's hard though because I've been trying to eat certain foods for my milk supply like brown rice and stuff but I just eat too much I guess. I should be burning about 750 cals/day at least with as much milk as I'm making plus walking 3 miles every day. I have no idea why it's so hard for me to lose weight. I am starting to write down everything I eat so I can at least be more aware of how much I'm eating and maybe tweak things.
Thanks Banana, it's hard because it's been 4 weeks now and I'm getting eager to fit into normal clothes again.
Oh sorry for your daughter! Our pet rabbit has been sounding very poorly lately and I worry about her. Pet loss stinks but I do think it's a good way for kids to learn about death before they lose grandparents or another family member.
Edelweiss, I just read something from a pretty mainstream magazine that said that most women wear maternity clothes for around 2 mos pp. I think that most of the women in question also only bore one child inutero! I think you are doing a great job with nursing, pumping, and being active... and all on an hour or two of sleep a night! Be easy on yourself, it's part of the healing process (body, mind and soul/spirit).
Sorry to hear about the chicken Banana.
Thanks Mama505 - I never wore maternity clothes after having DD but I gained 30 lbs total and had enough "fat clothes" I guess that I made things work. DH took photos of our family today and I was so depressed by the ones with me in them. I know it's kind of pathetic but it is hard weighing this much extra when I'm used to being in shape and running all the time.
It's like I'm screwed no matter what I do. In 4 kids, she's never been invited to a birth, she was told this time it would be better if she waited because I needed some time to adjust. 3 days out for your trip and no baby is your subtle clue that it's time to reschedule!
Graysmama--I can totally relate about having a hard time deciding on names. We are down to two girl names and I just don't know how to choose. I keep saying we will know when we meet her but I am not sure that is true.
Also, I got such great sleep this weekend and the weather is perfect and its the weekend so my husband would not have to use vacation days for labor and we have a good back up plan for my daughter and yet, no sign of baby coming any time soon. My inlaws will be here in a week and I really hope I don't go past 41 weeks or we will miss that help with my DD. It is hard when all of these things are out of our control!
