It's almost September!!!

Work is getting lame. I'm over it, but it's the only thing keeping me going at this point. Plus the income, ya know... Haha.

There really are times that this girl's movements are so intense, I can't tell if what I'm feeling is a contraction or just her.

Other than that, I'm just enjoying my final days with my only child. smile.gif Or at least trying to. I can't do much.

Ditto on the intense movements! I honestly can't tell the difference sometimes. I'm trying to enjoy my last few days with my only child too smile.gif we took her to a water park yesterday. She had a blast and I relaxed in the water while do chased her around. She's part mermaid I swear.

How's everyone doing? I can't believe we are so close. I'm in single digits! 9 days max.

Agree with the movements. She's wiggling about in there so much I'm finding it hard to sleep. 4 weeks still left for me, feels like its going slow now lol
post #4 of 101

Mamamash; that's so soon, how exciting! I still have a maximum of 4 weeks, but I am due in two.

I'm also getting the intense movements, it's so core at times! And it feels like his shoulders are balancing heavily on the front of my pelvis. I'm now just kind of in waiting mode and not doing much. Although I did 10 minutes of gardening which I know I'm going to regret in the morning!

Also thete with you ladies on the intense movements. DH keeps asking me if ive gone into labour but its 'just' baby moving in a really uncomfortable way.

Put my back out moving chicken tractors around yesterday. I guess farm chores are officially off limits for me now. Poor DH is stuck with everything until this baby is here and i have a chance to recover. And my DS is getting sick and whiney. Yippee smile.gif 5 more days until hopefully this baby makes his or her debut!

5 days. Wow. I wish I could get her to evacuate while my brother is here on his pre deployment leave. He'll be here until the 31st. If I don't have her before then, he won't get to meet her until next Summer. greensad.gif

The intense movements I feel are only crazy terrible when he punches my cervix and hooks his bottom into my ribs at the same time.  Like my body can't even register which one hurts worse.  Thankfully, he's running out of room, so while he's still on the move, it's a limiting factor on how much he can stretch out now.

I can't believe so many of you are at the beginning of the pack in terms of EDDs!  I am startled that I have 3 weeks left until my EDD - most of you have less than 2!  C'mon, mid-to-late September mommies - where you at?!  winky.gif

That being said, I send lots of pixie dust for long, quality sleep, ease of physically moving around, and dry pantyliners! ROTFLMAO.gif

This week is pretty calm in terms of scheduling, but we're just trying to move forward on the home search without getting frustrated.  The houses we looked at this weekend were all busts.  The one we had the highest hopes on had a contract put on it the day before, so that was mega-disappointing.  We're thinking of moving to a slightly less-desirable city to the south of where we currently live to get a little more home for our small investment.  We're spoiled in that our current city has a really sweet and quaint downtown area - little boutiques and brick-lined streets.  We're not close to it in our current home, but it's only a 10 minute drive.  If we move to the new city, it's much more "suburban sprawl-ish" and our little downtown would be 20 minutes away on the freeway.  Still not insurmountable, but not as close/convenient.  The focus on the home we're looking at on Wednesday is that it has a nice looking pool (I've come to terms with the pool now, for those following my saga!), a decent but not HUGE yard (enough for my illegal chickens), and it's turn-key ready.  One of the houses we looked at last Sunday had a squatter in it and the carpet smelled like human urine, so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing that our budget can buy us something not gross.  I'm trying to focus less on the actual location and more on the idea that moving to a cheaper home in the suburban-sprawl town will enable me to guarantee to stay home and homeschool - the cheaper cost of living would help ensure we're not as tight in the budget.

My BP is 142/86... Waiting to see the doctor now. I hope he doesn't put me on bed rest or anything.

He said 160/100 is baby delivery time, so I'm still okay for now. Shwoo.

CDsMom1031 -  Oof, hope you can rest some and keep the BP down so it doesn't become an issue.  I know lavender essential oil seemed to bring my BP down at my MW appointment two weeks ago.  It was a little high when she first took it and then she gave me some lavender oil to use when I'm having panic attacks and she decided to test it again after I had sniffed the oil and, sure enough, it had gone down.  I know it may not be the solution that works for everyone, but perhaps worth a try.  Sending you relaxing vibes.

aidenn - Sorry the home search is getting complicated.  Hope you guys can find something that works well for your family.  And I've still got 5 weeks to go...so don't feel discouraged.

LivingSky - I can't imagine moving chicken tractors at this point.  I'm having a hard enough time motivating myself to take a 30 minute walk every day.

AFM - I'm going to the chapel...  (well, actually the Justice of the Peace)...in about an hour.  Gonna get marrrrrrrried!!!  My parents are coming with us and then off for a seafood dinner with a few other family members.

High BP is what got me induced last time. It runs in my family. I've never had great BP, but this was the highest it's been.
Awwww...yay lilmamita-congrats!

Aidenn-I feel your pain with the house search. All the houses we can afford in the desirable areas have major issues and need work-or they have contracts on them before we can even get in to see them. Boo.

CDsMom-I'm also sending calming thoughts your way. Hopefully your BP doesn't go any higher.

Serena-it's down to hours til you see DB, right? I can't even imagine how excited you must be. Maybe baby will feel the excitement and flip her lil self over!! smile.gif

LivingSky-I hope everything goes well with your timing for baby. Keep us posted!

MamaMash-9 days?! Wow! I'm glad you're off bed rest and able to get out and have fun with your daughter.

Nettlesoup-I couldn't even do 10 minutes of gardening if I had to. And you're two weeks ahead of me!

Afm-this is my girls' first full week of school, and the first day I've dropped them off and then sat around all day like a bum. I love it. I'm excited to have some days alone with my son before the baby arrives and he's usurped from his youngest throne. But as the only boy he still has his special place. smile.gif

I need to finish baby shopping and I lack motivation. I have all the necessities besides a few blankets, and a bit more cloth diapers unless I decide to do disposables at first and skip newborn sized dipes, which I may do. I need to wash everything still. Blah. I had a good kick of nesting energy Saturday afternoon, but my get up and go got up and went.

CDsMom -  Glad it's not high enough to warrant induction! Here's hoping it stays low enough until she's ready to come out on her own. :)

lilmamita - Congrats and good luck!

I hit 35 weeks today but spent most of the morning confused and thinking it was 36 weeks. *sigh* Two more weeks to go until I finish work and I really hope baby doesn't come TOO early. I want to enjoy having time in my day to actually get stuff done BEFORE I collapse in exhaustion before this baby comes and I have no choice but to collapse into exhaustion.

I am still running on a complete lack of sleep (3 hours last night at most I think) and I'm not sure that I won't resort to violence the next time someone smugly suggests "Just you waaaaaaait! You think you're tired now do you?" YES I know I shall lack sleep with a newborn, yes it will likely be worse than now, yes I know these things. However with a baby I can sneak in some naps while they're napping, even if they sleep during business hours whereas I would LOVE to sleep right now but work kind of frowns upon that kind of thing.

Lilmamita; congratulations!!

CDsMom; I hope your blood pressure doesn't go any higher or cause problems for you. Maybe a good excuse to relax as much as you can?

Freckledmama; we need to look into nappies again as well. We have loads from my daughter, but most of them are Wonderoos which are rubbish and now leak no matter what. So we're going to have to gradually build up our Mother-ease stash as and when we can afford them.

lilmamita - Congrats on the marriage!!

katalopolis - I agree on the lack of sleep thing.  With a newborn, you can adjust your schedule, even if it seems weird hours to keep.  When you have to perform in a normal adult society, the lack of sleep stinks worse.

CDsMom1031 - You're in my thoughts about the high BP.

Lilmamita- congrats and have a good time

Cdsmom- maybe this means u should slow down, if that's possible lol

I have 9 hours till I see my DB. Oh god I'm so excited lol I got butterflies 😃

i second the intense movements. it's started to become actually a bit painful!

i'm in waiting mode too now. i'm also sometimes ending up doing nothing now - a conscious effort - we still have stuff on our to do list, but some days i just don't feel up for anything and am thinking right now, how about i just don't do anything on those days.. and see what that feels like? it's actually not bad :D oh and yes, i did some gardening with DF too over the weekend and of course my hips and back started complaining right away!

*raises hand* here, me!! i'm due 9/28. scared the DDC will have emptied out by that point!

aidenn, i think i've at least driven through your town at some point when i still lived in FL. from what i remember, it was a really beautiful area - unusually historic for Central FL! on the other hand, turn-key is a big pro if you ask me.. fingers crossed for your house hunt, hope you'll find something soon!

yaay he's finally back!! enjoy the reunion Serena - so happy for you!

well, i'm starting off this week (my 34th) with flu-like symptoms. been looking forward to seeing my OB today, but just when we left the house they called us and said she was called into hospital, one of her patients went into labor. her plan is now to catch the baby and head back to her practice, so she *should* still be able to see me later today. for now, we're back at home, waiting to hear back from them.

today is also our 34 week ultrasound - the second (and probably last) one! so excited to see the baby again and see how he's grown since week 20!

generally, i'm feeling better today, still weak and all, but not nearly as bad as yesterday or last night.

DF and i finally decided on our babymoon and booked the hotel last night!! we're going to explore Gold Country in the Sierra foothills. my original idea was to show him Yosemite since he's never been there, but that was too far of a drive for us to feel comfortable.

we booked a room in a somewhat upscale chain hotel, which is so not my thing usually, but i'm really craving comfort and wellness in my current state. the hotel has a heated pool and a spa, and lots of space :) i'm excited. going Friday - Sunday!

other than that, last week we've gotten some bigger things off our list, so i am not super stressed out about getting stuff done this week. i think the biggest things on our list this week is to file the form for domestic partnership, and get my car in for an oil change and possibly inspection. other than that, planning on taking it easy this week i think :)

Well. My water broke! I'm in the hospital now. C section should be around 7:30-8 tonight.

Ha! I know what you mean by intense. I think because mine is so low, it's causing spatial issues for her I guess. I was told she had long legs. Work is lame over here too, but I decided not to start my maternity leave early because guess what? We need the money! DUH.

A great weekend for me-- though I'm a little miffed about my "shower" being more of a return-fest for me. I hate to be like that but I'm a bit of a minimalist and my DH? A total stuff-horder. So it's hard to keep the STUFF at bay. Who knew having a baby meant so much STUFF. I am not loving the fact that I am returning over half of what I got, which isn't much, it was a small thing, and believe me, I feel like such an ungrateful biatch for saying these things. But my sisters insisted on throwing me something. Then my DH got involved and made me out to be a primadonna about "what I wanted" like having only women at a baby shower isn't the NORM or something? And then the guy orders a glass of wine. Seriously. That's what got us into crazy drama at my first daughters' shower. Plus then I find out the sisters paid over $200 for it. I was miffed about that too. All for more STUFF. I really don't need another pack-n-play! We use the one we have for stuffed animals! Same with a baby food puree thing, which I know was about $80. Wow I could think of a better use for that money. I do baby-led weaning, which is offering food, not purees, to my babies once they hit 6 months and beyond. No one knows this, because they don't know much about how I parent. I don't share that info. LOL and of course they get me NO bottles. Because a breastfeeding WORKING mother wouldn't use those. I don't do formula so I must not ever use bottles. *sigh* I know I sound like a jerk. But there it is!

I just spent most of the day ordering the last of what I need on Amazon. One of the lovely aunts gave me a gift card. Now that is really what I needed! I also found out that I can order a breastpump through my insurance! YES. I have the choice of a Purely Yours, Medela or Playtex. Any suggestions on which one to get? I know aidenn would know LOTS about this being a doula. I have my sisters old Ameda Purely Yours and it worked great, but wasn't very powerful. Not sure if that is due to more then one set of boobs using it. I'd like to have a brand new one this time! So excited!

Now if I could JUST pick a darn name!!!
