12 weeks PP 2nd cesarean issues, Gas, gurgling, burning and sex

12 weeks ago I had a(nother) emergency cesarean.  My recovery up until now has been fine.  No major issues till the past few days.  I've noticed on and off burning in my stomach.  Once it woke me up.  Then the gurgling noises as if I'm about to have diarrea but nothing.  Then the horribly stinky gas that makes my DH's pale in comparison!  Ugh!  Anyone else have these issues and is it normal???  Do I see my OB about this or a regular DR??  I lost lots of weight and am a few pounds away from my original size.  My stomach completely shrank and is tight.  I'm wondering if this is just a side effect from shrinking?

On another note.  My libido is threw the roof!  Unfortunately I do get sore and have a hard time have sex consecutive days.  Initially I had issues with dryness since I EBF but it's gone no more need for lube.  After my first cesarean I had NO see 0 sex drive and it was painful for almost a year.  I actually would cringe when DH would try to initiate sex because it was an issue of how long can I last before the pain is unbearable.  But this time I can't get enough of him :)  Anyone else go through this?

I wonder if you have gallstones. They can be caused by pregnancy hormones. I got them during my first pregnancy and had my gall bladder out about a year post partum. I think it might be worth a trip to the regular Dr. and I wouldn't assume it's related to the c section or birth anyway. Good luck finding an answer!

My libido was very low after one birth and very high after the other. Hormones are mysterious. LOL.

I think this warrants a trip to your family doctor.

Your organs might still be "settling" after the birth and surgery. This can cause gurgling, gas, and the sensation of fetal movement.

However, everything's usually back it's pre-pregnancy home 4-8 weeks postpartum.

Did you make any major dietary changes postpartum? Might be contributing to the GI troubles. Also, some women's bodies change drastically after a birth and can develop a food intolerance(amongst a myriad of other shifts in chemistry).

And I second gallstones. Also, since you've had c-sections, you could have scar tissue adhesions causing a minor bowel obstruction.

I had terrible gas after my c-section. Some is normal, due to the meds and "settling", but mine was like you say yours is. I went to the doc about 15 weeks postpartum and ended up having a bowel obstruction from tissue adhesion and lactose intolerance.

As for the painful sex, is the pain in your abdomen or vulva/vagina?

After birth, all your hormones are in flux, not just the ones directly associated with labor/birth.

Congratulations on the arrival of your new tiny human!

Now at 6 months PP

No gurgling issues. I rapidly lost weight in stages and each stage I would experience stomach issues. All is fine now.

Its major surgery and with that our bodies need time to heal. During which all kinds of strange things happen.
