I am so fed up with eating while pregnant. It is such a chore. If I don't eat, I feel like shit, if I do eat, I feel like shit. HOW DO YOU EAT WHEN YOURE PREGNANT AND FEEL GOOD???
I had a brief period between weeks 18 and 22 when the morning sickness went away and I still had room in my stomach where I could eat like a normal person.
and now at 30 weeks, I can only eat breakfast and feel good after, but even that is subsiding and now I get heartburn if I lay down/recline even slightly after. I can eat like 1/3 of what normal portion of a lunch I would have before being pregnant (and forget about salads, I still can't eat them!!) and if I eat dinner I am absolutely miserable nauseous for the rest of the night. I am not even hungry for dinner most of the time, but sometimes I am and knowing that I've eaten barely 1000 calories the whole day I feel like I should eat because you're supposed to have like 300 extra in the third trimester and I worry about getting enough calcium and protein right now. UGH.
right now it's 5 and I just ate my last and final "meal" of the day... maybe 3/4 cup quinoa with 1/2 cup steamed broccoli and a couple tablespoons of tahini/ginger sauce I made. super healthy and nutrient packed and volume wise not really that much... but i am excruciatingly full. and tired. Before I ate I was VERY hungry, to the point of feeling lightheaded.
WHAT IS THE SOLUTION>??? liquid diet?? I'm going to try tomorrow to just have a smoothie for breakfast and soup for lunch and see if that makes a difference. I feel like if I bend over the food will just all come up, like the muscle that keeps the esophagus closed is just completely open. it's so annoying and I really don't see how pregnant women gain like 75 pounds while pregnant because I am not eating anywhere close to how much I ate BEFORE I got pregnant!! before I got pregnant I had 1800-2000 calories a day (i didn't count, but just estimating knowing what things are) and exercised 7-9 hours a week. Now I'm managing MAYBE 1500 at the most, and still managing to exercise about 5-7 hours per week. HOW DO YOU EAT WHEN PREGNANT??
this is maddening. especially when I have pregnancy cravings and food just sounds so good, but I can't eat it.
