I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the safety of mattress-cooling pads like the chilipad while co-sleeping. My youngest is 3 1/2 and co-sleeps with me, and I'm expecting #3 in the spring. I am always overheated at night with night-sweats and having to change clothes during the night. Now that I am pregnant, I know it will only increase. I am considering purchasing one of these bed cooling pads. I've heard great things about them. I'm just concerned about the safety of using them with a newborn in the bed. There is an electric component that cools waters as it travels through coils throughout the mattress pad. Since there is already water running through it, it seems that the electric component shouldn't be a concern in the event of a water leak (or diaper leak or spit up). I would think there should already be some sort of safety mechanism in place, but wondering if anyone has any more info or experience. It's an expensive purchase, so don't want to buy it if I won't be able to use it once baby arrives.
