Hi! I'm new here, this is my first post. I'm 23year old mom from Finland and im here because in finland home births are not supported in anyway.

My situation is that i possible have GT. I went in that test, not sure is it same anywhere but here it goes like this: 1. Blood test after 12h hungry, you can drink only little water and then you drink glucose 2. Test is taken 1h after glucose and 3. Test 2h after glucose. My results was that 1. And 2. Was little over that it should. At home everything has been fine and doctor sent me in a new 2h test because he thinks there is a possibility that my previous night eating could have been impacted in test result.. well my question is that is UC safe if my sugars stays good in home test? What should i know about ans how to prepare? This is my third child. Sorry grammar mistakes or wrong words smile.gif - jenna

I believe if your sugars stay in the normal range prior to birth there aren't increased risks to you or the baby during birth or after. Watch your diet though, eat lots of protein and avoid extra starch and sugar to keep in the best of health, with GD or not. And make sure your baby nurses well and often the first couple days especially if there is any chance he or she might be born with blood sugar abnormalities.
