So now that we have had a few weeks to get to know our little ones, what are they like? Are they similar or different to their siblings? What are their habits like?
Aubrey is a little fire cracker, and is sure to challenge me in a totally different way than DS did/does. DS was introverted and intense, always needed to be held, but was content *just* being held. Well, held and nursed. He was my "obligate chest sleeper" for most of the first year. He's shy, grounded, mechanical, and needs to master a skill before he moves on to something else. He's also silly, energetic, and in may ways a "typical" boy. She is already showing the "student of all, master of none" traits.
Aubrey also likes to be held, but also likes the bouncy seat or a blanket to lay on and play with her hands and feet and practice using them...although she gets bored very quickly with toys - she wants to be social. If we aren't involving her enough she pouts and whines until we include her in the conversation. (I had no idea that babies were this social this early - seriously). She naps mostly in the wrap or on my chest if I am trying to get DS to sleep as well, but that is mostly due to DS not wanting to leave her/us alone long enough to get her to sleep anywhere else. I do think that she would though, if I had the opportunity to let her.
While DS was a chunker who grew steadily bigger, she is long and lean and grows in fits and spurts. If she is being entertained she will play and smile until she is stark raving mad with hunger or exhaustion, then scream and cry until I can get her to sleep/eat.
I could go on and on, but I need to make some dinner!!
What about your LO's?
