Help me with my Zolo...it's my first ring sling!

Hi ladies...
So, after oogling over the Zolo for months, I finally got one. Now that it's here, it's been sitting on the couch unused because we can't quite figure it out! Not that we've tried too hard, but it's frustrating! The fabric gets all bunched up! Aaargh!

Right now we LOVE our KKAFP...but obviously that will be too hot for an Iowa summer. Can anyone give me advice on the best position for a newborn (3 wks)...in the ring sling? She likes tummy to tummy...do you leave her feet hanging out on that?

It really depends on what she's comfortable with. Does she seem to dislike being "restricted" with her feet inside for tummy to tummy? As she gets older, she will probably prefer to have her feet out, in which case, try not to have the fabric bunched behind her knees...try to pull as much as it up to the top as you can, and the excess can be used for head support.

I just got a zolo too. where is the fabric bunching? Can you be more specific about the problems you're having? You could also try posting on the Yahoo Babywearing group. The owner of ZoloWear is a moderator there and she could help you a lot with getting your sling to be comfortable.

I'm a newbie too, and still working to get ours figured out. First of all, reading the instructions on the zolo website really helped me. Then, I also read some threads on www.thebabywearer.com website as well. I'm no expert but some tips that my friend gave to me before I read those websites was to make sure the serged edges were at the very edge. Make sure those are not folded over other fabric when you start. Another thing that I learned form www.thebabywearer.com was to support the baby when in the sling with one hand while tightening with the other hand. This makes it so much easier to pull the fabric through the rings.

I tried the cradle the first time I wore it out in public, and it was comfortable for me, but Audrey was not in it right. But, she didn't complain. She slept the entire time. Now, I've started doing tummy to tummy. The zolo site says that the feet come out, but my friend suggested feet in and Audrey is ok with that. The most difficult part of doing the tummy to tummy with Audrey at this point is getting good neck support with it. I practice at least once a day.

It's getting easier but it is awfully easy to not do it right too.
