I'm so jealous Joanie! Of the lunch date AND the sushi.
A sushi lunch date would be sublime. DH came home from work at 3 yesterday because he could tell I needed a hug. Sweetest ever, right? It's SO nice that his work is so flexible. He just worked from home after my hug.

Feeling hung over today - physically and emotionally. Had a tough day yesterday, then had an evening drinking beer and talking and crying with a friend. Feels good now, but I'm tired.

Thinking about you, Nicole! Hope you're getting some awesome productive rest!

Alright why does anyone let me come to work when I'm so tired... I just instant messaged the wrong person (a supervisor nonetheless) with a message meant for someone else. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS. So embarrassing. Thank goodness it was a random message about something with my sister and not talking gossip. Not that we have any office gossip to talk about anyway, thank God.

Kirsten, I'm sorry you had a rough day yesterday. That is so sweet that your DH came home to comfort you. smile.gif

Eli is whining my ears off and I feel like puking. I am so over being sick. My immune system must be down quite a bit... Time to start beefing it up I guess before winter and all it's germ friends come.

Glad your lunch was good Joanie! Parking is just as expensive here, thank goodness we have no car smile.gif. Well, it would be nice but it's good too.

Just saw this on FB, too!  Yay Nicole!!!!   I wonder if her dh can sneak her some food.

Are they not letting her eat?  Thats mean.

So they DO still check your dilation after your water has broken...

Hope you are resting, Nicole!

I think they don't let you eat after a certain point. I wasn't allowed anything but ice cubes after I had my epidural. And yes, Joanie, they still check you. I feel like that's all anyone did while I was in labor with J! Lol.

Since her water was broken she said no internals, but obviously that changed since she knows she's at 5cm now.  Jeremy is posting on FB and says she's been sleeping for an hour.  I suggested he ask his parents to bring her some contraband food.  She has an epi in place so if she ends up needing a c-section they will numb her that way, right?  No risk of general.

No risk of general - I had an Epi in place, so when Eli did go into distress and I ended up needing a csec they just upped the epidural.
I'd think there still may be a risk of general...? I thought there's a point where they can't administer anymore epidural drugs. Two of my friends had vaginal epi births and both of their epidurals wore off by the time they were pushing and the doctors said they couldn't administer anymore. I don't know about these things personally, but maybe if you have an epidural for too long, you're on a time limit?

Not to bring negativity in to the conversation but when I had J the epi didn't fully numb me so they tried a spinal block, also didn't work so I ended up under general for my c-section. I wasn't posting much then, I doubt I shared much if anything about my birth experience.

Joanie-yay for the lunch date! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Amanda-so glad for you and Jasper that his ear will be better now.

More good vibes for Nicole.

My epidural wore off right when it was time to push and they wouldn't give me more. I don't know why, but I was pissed. Going from zero pain to pushing pain in ten minutes is not cool.
With my csec they really just upped the epidural. It was great because I was aware and could hold and nurse Eli after he was born... It wore off super fast but i was itchy for two days after. I had some kind of reaction to it.

Well it's apparent that women aren't informed in the hospital setting that epidural medication is not unlimited. Clearly they can only administer so much.
