We have a 401k. And that about sums up my knowledge of them.

Mal, I hope the second opinion can give you guys a better understanding and maybe some more treaem options.

So I'm sitting here in my car in a parking lot...and I've got to say, I've endured some pretty crazy shiz with a level head and no anxiety- people bleeding out in front of me, and once even bein held hostage- and I was cool and collected the whole time. But, put me in front of a dentists office? I'm paralyzed with fear. Literally. I can't get out of my car.

Ash, you can do it!

Mal, I hope your second opinion goes well. I'm going to encourage someone to keep all her medical paperwork in a single file that goes to appointments with her. The doctors need to know what everyone else is doing and behave as a team.

Jaimee, Shay looks 3. It's only when he talks that people question his age.

Ash, you know we need to hear the hostage story now. But first, get out of your car. You can do it!

Nicole, not that you need to think about this right now or anything wink1.gif, but the thought just crossed my mind... is your sister going to be watching Layla when you go back to work? Or do you have someone else lined up? I hope you're taking a good long maternity leave!

It happened. That's about all of that story I want to relive, lol. Traumatizing. Very traumatizing.

I'm out of my car. I checked in. There's no turning back now, right?

Back to bed now. I'll catch up with you chatter boxes later. smile.gif

You can do it, Ash! Yay dentist!

Nicole, adorable.

Mal, hugs.

I'm stepping away from the 401k.

Aww she's such a beauty.

Ash, way to walk in!

Nicole, so cute!

Morning all!

Ash, I hear ya, I am terrified of dentists... Good luck!

Nicole I am glad Layla nurses well! Our hearing tests were done in our room, the heel prick too. Eli never left our room except when dh took him for a short bout so I could sleep. I hear you on the dh resentment too, but in the end I was just glad that he was rested enough to then help during the day. Hospital stays suck... Sorry greensad.gif. And yes, I hated it too when people asked if Eli was hungry after I just fed him.

Ei looks like is older too Sara, it is the talking thing that makes them realize he isn't. I am glad we don't have to worry too much about carseats since we don't have a car. I have a convertible carseat in storage that I pull out when we rent a car.

I am feeling better but still have a lot of snot left....

Jaimee I am sorry about your rough night...
Okay. Ash, I hope you made it through your appointment.

Amanda, if you need financial help, you should ask H. You know, since you are now officially raising two of his kids, one of which has no blood connection to you. I also only know enough about them to know that we have one, LOL.

I had to turn Conner around once I installed Layla's car seat. My car is too compact. I couldn't fit in the front seat with him RF behind me or her behind me. Although I might be able to now that my stomach is smaller and squishy.

DH felt like crap today that I was up all night while he slept. He said to not do that again. How cute. But if one of us can get some sleep, so be it.

Sorry you had a crappy night, too Jaimee. That sounds frustrating.

I think I caught up. I think. Sorry if I missed anything huge.

Conner is here and he's actually tolerating Layla right now. By tolerating, I mean ignoring. But he's not crying or anything like that. Yay.

I am so angry at this article. Wow. Just wow. Apparently the news outlets are proclaiming that babies born at home are 10x more likely to be stillborn and 14x more likely to be stillborn if firstborns, plus 4x more likely to experience seizures or "serious neurologic dysfunction." Wtf. I don't believe the study purporting this. Way to shine a negative light on homebirth, America. Way to go. http://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/home-births-lead-more-stillborn-babies-study-says-162500236.html

Yeah, my sister has been keeping track of her medical paperwork. That's the thing, her docs just aren't acting like a team right now. They are all telling her different things. We're almost a month out from her diagnosis and no one has even given her a prognosis yet. She hasn't seen an oncologist since a few days after she was diagnosed. They are treating the brain first because obviously it's the most important organ, but no one is even talking about the rest of it. And as we sit here doing nothing, it's still spreading. Ugh. I'm so frustrated with the whole situation.

That's what I forgot. DH recently lost an aunt that passed away from a blood clot in her leg dislodging and going to her heart. I hope they're able to figure something out soon. Internet high five.

Hugs and more hugs, Mal.

In other news, about half of the time Greta refuses to nap anymore. Nap time is the only thing that keeps me sane on my days off and she's not even two. We can't lose the nap already!!

Ugh, I'm buried under this $7300 Melissa & Doug co-op order... after many pdf's, text docs with data, and excel spreadsheets I finally figured out the discrepancy in our totals.  The company had randomly added on 4 puzzles we never ordered.  Sigh...

Mal.. I'm so sorry!  How utterly maddening!  I hope you get some answers and the proper treatment soon.  Keep us posted!  ((HUGS))

Ash... good for you for getting out of the car.  Let us know how it went!  And where in the world were you held hostage?!

Nicole... so sweet!  I hope your dh is feeling better ASAP so he can help out more.  While I do agree, in theory, that both of you don't need to be sleep deprived, there is something to be said for feeling supported by him being there and doing whatever he can when she's awake.  Like, you feed her, sure, but he can change her diaper and if she doesn't fall back asleep again, he can rock her.  He may be a bit sleep deprived, but you just ran a marathon and your body needs to heal from major surgery on top of that.  He will recover quickly. You will need much more time and you should not at all feel guilty about taking advantage of every offer to help you out.  Recovery with two kids will be harder than with just one- go easy on yourself as much as possible.

Sonja, glad to hear you're mostly better.  Do you neti pot?  That can really help with all that drainage.

Joanie, while I was searching for the mothering.com app online I saw that same article!  Of course I couldn't resist clicking on it, but I was so disgusted by it after the first few paragraphs that I told myself to stop reading it.

The dentist just prescribed me the devil toothpaste Joanie is afraid of oops.gif

Then they told me i need $5000 of work on 3 teeth and I laughed and left.

Nicole, that's one cute baby! Wh
Mal, no more naptime sounds scary. I'm not even entertaining the idea that will eventually happen to my kid. No no no... Ash, I'm ROFL here. You filling that prescription? wink1.gif Wtf @ $5,000 worth of work. Is it stuff you can put off, or are you having pain right now? Eesh...
I feel ya, Ash. I don't really have a fear of the dentist, but I didn't have dental insurance for so long I let my teeth get bad. Last year's root canal and crown were just the tip of the iceberg. I need so many fillings it's ridiculous. My dentist closed her practice and I am really putting off finding another.
