Jeez, Nicole, I was just making conversation! Also, I don't actually watch tv....
Sara, I may be able to find time for 1 min.
Amanda, I'm with you... I cannot handle the violence anymore. Years ago I loved all those action, thriller movies and we loved Six Feet Under and The Sopranos. But recently I watched Breaking Bad and I really can't do it anymore- the disposing of bodies, the beating up of people, yuck. I don't think I could handle Dexter and dh is dying to watch it. Sigh. We will watch Orange is the New Black, though, when we start a new show. We just finished up The News Room and House of Cards. We really liked both of those- especially News Room. I love fast paced witty, smart, educational dialogue in shows.
Mal, sorry we weren't entertaining enough today! But I'm really glad to hear your mother's surgery went well! Keep us posted on the results of the scans and the next steps in her treatment. Also, good luck with your soul searching. I can only imagine how reflective you must feel when you're dealing with something as serious as your mother's illness. Life's too short to be unhappy.
I just got back from dd's curriculum night- learning all about what she'll be learning this year. I think we made a good choice skipping her. To me, the curriculum sounded like it will be exactly what she needs- a challenge, being asked to think deeper and go farther with her work.
I find drinking wine and hiding in a closet to work well. I don't know... I may not be very gentle. I mean, I don't like hit the kids or go crazy on them or what have you, but I shut down the sass. Well, the dd2 sass. Dd1 is special... her's is a work in progress. I'm just glad she's not throwing things and trying to hit me anymore. Ahhh... it's the little things.
Thanks, Amber. Hope you feel better, both physically and mentally.
Yay for a good curriculum night, Jaimee. I'm sure you made a great choice. Dd1 still resents me for not skipping her past first. I'm not even kidding. She doesn't understand the non-academic stuff that went into my decision.

We do cereal and oatmeal most days, followed with a banana or an orange. Usually cereal. Yesterday we had some oatmeal/banana/cocoa muffins I made, and today the milk man is late so we have no milk, so we had sunflower butter and jelly. And the kids had extra cheese and bananas.
