Wow, I haven't been on here in forever! We went to the beach again with my parents at the first of September, then we all got colds for the millionth time... The beach was lots of fun, except that whenever I get out of the water and my belly stops floating I get round ligament pain! So that made waves very uncomfortable at times! :) I broke my dad's beach chair by sitting in it. *sigh* I guess I didn't have to worry about not gaining enough weight... (Well, my three year old was sitting on my lap, maybe I can blame it on him, he's growing a lot.)
Also, my older son has cavities in his fillings, so I've been dealing with that, ugh. He had trouble between his molars back when he was five, and we got them "fixed" - but now the fillings are falling out and stuff, and we have to redo most of it. Grrrr, I knew I didn't like that dentist...
I had my then-four-year-old at his little brother's birth. My mom and dad were in the house to watch him, but they were forbidden to come into my room. :) (That mostly worked, except that my mom ran the dishwasher and washing machine and used up all my hot water for the birth tub! This time I'm specifically warning her about our small water heater.) My son climbed right in the birth tub with me at the end of pushing, and got a little splashy. The midwife seemed bothered by it, but I didn't care. :) He doesn't really remember the birth now, sadly, but at least he can say he was there. He was delighted at the time. We gave him the job of running out to tell my parents that the baby was born. (He ran out and told them that the baby's name was Benjamin, which confused them a bit, since we were kind of expecting a girl.) Both boys say they want to be there this time around too. :) I finally got around to asking my mom if she'd watch them again. I figured she would, she just seemed nervous last time. *shrug* She seemed surprised that I needed to ask. :) But she's going to Texas until November 3rd. The boys were born within a week of their due dates, and I'm not due until the 12th, so it will probably be fine... I ought to make a list about what's allowed for people in the house while I'm having the baby. No using the hot water. No ordering pizza unless you bring me some. (Last time the pizza arrived just around the time of birth - I don't remember now whether it was right before or right after - could have been pretty weird for the delivery guy. But while I was getting cleaned up and waiting for the placenta and stuff, I could smell the pizza, and I was suddenly starving! And no one brought me any until it got cold!) Hmm, what other rules?
Vaquitita, you mentioned trying to affect gender back on the other page, I think? We've tried it the last two times - but still got boys. :) It doesn't hurt to try, just don't put too many hopes on it actually working. :)
ShaktiDevi, that's crazy about your MIL! She should know better! I suggest that you ban her without the slightest bit of guilt. :) I don't even let my own mother in the birthing room.
I have a linea nigra too - I was wondering if it was going to show up this time around! It's only medium-dark so far.
I keep trying to re-introduce dairy to my diet. It seems to go fine for a few days, then I get adventurous and eat something like pizza, and then I feel sick again for three days. :P Like now. *sigh* I really, really want this to go away after the baby is born. Lactose intolerance is dumb. But, no more trying until then. Being sick is dumb too.
The weather is sooo nice here! It started feeling like fall so much earlier than usual. I won't mind if it stays like this until December or so. :)
The baby is putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis, as usual by this point in pregnancy for me. All kinds of weird poking and stabbing going on down there. It freaked me out the first pregnancy. :) For something new this time around, my pubic symphysis now pops audibly whenever I roll over at night, like cracking my knuckles. At least it doesn't hurt most of the time.
We haven't done much to get ready for the baby yet... not even the name. I have the old baby clothes in bins, and my mom keeps wanting to take them out and play with them, but I haven't bothered to sort them yet. We did finally get a car seat! It's sitting in the living room. We need to put it in the car and make sure we can actually fit all three seats in the back. :) Otherwise there is going to be trouble. I guess I just don't feel like time is moving, so I don't have to do anything to get ready. :)
