Vitamin Drops Brand Suggestion
I gave my children vitamin and mineral supplements when they were younger and did a lot of research beforehand. Luckily I knew one of the UK's top nutritionists (Karen Devine) who guided me to formulations that had no additives and that contained minerals/vitamins formulated to be as absorbable as possible. Many vitamin/mineral companies will put in, say, iron into their formulation and it is indeed iron, but in fact not in a formulation we can absorb, hence the joke about magnetic cornflakes (do you remember the video where they dissolved cornflakes and extracted the iron and it was actually metallic iron!!! which of course we cannot absorb).
Did you know that the vast majority of mineral supplements are made from ground up seabed? The manufacturers are entirely within the law to do this as their labels are truthful - so the supplements do indeed contain calcium, magnesium, etc, but NOT in a form we can absorb (since we're not designed to eat rock!!!)
I discovered that it's possible to buy organic minerals - made from prehistoric condensed organic material - then the earth's crust contained 84 different minerals and so these minerals are very high quality and pretty much 100% absorbable.
So back to mineral/vitamin drops - my recommendation is BioCare since they seem to have done the most research. I used their probiotics, mineral drops, vitamin drops and several other supplements. They're not cheap but then good quality nutrients are (now you know that there is a vast difference between the cheap supplements you see on the shelves in Boots and the supplements you can buy in specialist outlets such as the Nutricentre (who do also sell cheap stuff, so be careful).
The other company I recommend for minerals is Archturus Healthlink in Scotland. This company was created by Cherie (who trained Karen!) and I have used pretty much all of their supplements - they are very powerful.
I personally don't think there is an advantage of buying minerals/vitamins in solution and often the choice and quality of powdered minerals is better. I used to mix them into the top of their porridge or yoghurt (so they'd eat the minerals first without noticing) as when you mix into milk it tends to accumulate at the bottom in a lump.
I hope this helps! Sarah x
