We recently moved across the country and I started working after being a SAHM for 2 years. I really wanted to get our 2 year old into a Montessori program, but we were on a time crunch to get childcare immediately and just went with a regular daycare/preschool in a convenient location. She seems to love it so far, and I like the space and the caregivers.
However, I really love the idea of Montessori. I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to start applying to a Montessori preschool for her sometime in the next year, most of the ones in this area have a minimum age of 3 anyway.. I worry a little bit that it would be a difficult transition for her after starting in a regular daycare with tons of plastic toys and all of that. It also seems like Montessori is a bit more expensive and the hours are more limited which could be a challenge with my work schedule.
Have any of you transitioned your kiddo from a traditional daycare or preschool to Montessori, and how did that go? Was it worth the effort to make the change, and the extra expense, etc?
