Just wanted to say that I had a wonderful physiotherapy appointment yesterday. Great news: I do not have a stress fracture (bone injury), it is just some really sore, tight, knotted up muscles. He gave me some exercises and stretching to do and I am to hold off on running for one more week but should get the go ahead to start up again. I'm very happy! This week I am allowed to go for walks so that is what I have been doing. Already feeling better!

IsaFrench, that is awesome that you are back on your eating plan exercising again after your operation.  Keep up the good work.

 

CookiePie, good attitude, because you are right, you might not see the weight loss "right now" but your hard work will be rewarded.

 

katelove, great job. Your goals are in sight!

 

SweetSilver, exercise can have a great impact on your weightloss. Keep it up and see what you can do to help your eating this next week.

 

Gooseberry, I hope you were able to get your exercise in earlier this week. I know all about the week getting away from me.

 

Amanda, I hope your doctor appointment went well. Limping is not fun. Salty foods are just so problematic with weight loss because they cause fluid retention.

 

April, sometimes your body just needs to know that you aren't "starving" it and some good fats can do that. Way to go!

 

AAK, okay, I will just use last weeks weight and subtract the half pound. I know how changing scales can change things up.

 

Piglet, that is excellent news to receive. Keep up the walking habit. Movement is good.

am hoping to get below 150 lb this week

am about to complete my 3rd day of semi-fast for this week

(with 200 calories for breakfast and 300 calories for dinner and a 12 hours window with just no calories drinks in between)

i can "feel" that it's working ....

have been trying to loose weight for 8 years = i wish i had known about this eating plan beforehand !!!

Up 2.5 pounds.  hide.gif I have had a really bad food week--birthday celebrations.  Also, AF showed up early again so that might also contribute to my weight gain.  I am frustrated.  I just realized how much I have gained since last March.  I was at the club this morning though and tried to find some focus/new resolve.  I am writing out a menu for the week so that hopefully meals go easily.  I am increasing my exercise, will start wearing my fitbit (or something similar--I can't remember which I have), and will get better about tracking food.  I can't allow myself to get fatter!  I really like doing active, fun things and the extra weight doesn't help my knees out at all.

Same as last week.

 

Not complaining.  Last week was a bit of a surprise, and yesterday we went to my niece's birthday party.  I was very mindful of portions and still wound up eating too much.  Pulled a muscle near my back that is making walking uncomfortable.  I feel like an old lady!  It's affecting my legs, too, and it makes me think it's the psoas muscle (can that get pulled?)  It feels very internal.  Anyhow, I'll get through it.  Walking downhill hurts,  No more forest walks up and down our steep hills.

205. My doctor said it's scar tissue movement and it's going to take time. The bones and ligaments are healed and no new problems. The ankle is going to swell up for awhile. I just need to be patient. He did say I may need to have the metal plate taken out eventually.

One food I've been snacking on is low sodium, dry roasted pumpkin seeds. Yum! Also, I sometimes add them to smoothies.

I was sure I was going to be at a no-loss or gain because we went away this weekend to celebrate a friend's bar mitzvah and I ate a lot on Saturday. However, I came down with the flu and yesterday ate virtually nothing so overall I think I've maintained enough caloric deficit to lose on schedule, if not maintain. Today's weight is a bit low due to dehydration but next week's will make up for that if so.

 

141 lbs.

173.6!  Down 1.2 lbs!  Yay!  I started a Whole30 about 10 days ago and I am doing really well.  I think this is the way I need to eat forever!  I am eating tons more veggies, although the babies don't seem to like it when I eat cabbage AND brussels sprouts at the same meal (both were fussy last night).  Looking forward to another successful week.  Hopefully will get some more walks in too!

I should look into the whole30 thing! Love me some cabbage and brussel sprouts!!!

 

Since we moved I started going to the local co-op and cleaned my eating a whole lot, been eating lots of kale salads (chickpeas, tomatoes, green onions, lil cheese, hmmm), acorn squash dishes and everything organic! Can be hard on the wallet but I try to be wise about it and buy on sale or local-in-season and it hasn't been that bad at all! It was actually worst at the old place cuz we lived a block away from an expensive grocery store. We went everyday... 

NEED TO START EXERCISING!

Jaxy, I would say unpacking is exercise - I am sure you could get squats, lunges and the like in each day. I would keep on so you can stay in the habit.

IsaFrench, I've been looking into the 5:2 intermittent fasting and it sounds like a great plan...something that I might actually be able to maintain.  I'm still bf my 17 month old ds twice a day though, so maybe once he's weaned I'll give it a go.  Or maybe try a 6:1 and see if that does anything for me.
